A lot has happened since the idea of people being accountable for their actions dying away and it being considered far more rude to confront anyone on their flaws or defects of character than for them to inflict their abuses on others. You might create a scene or make people uncomfortable who are conflict-averse.

Anti extremism researchers like the ADL are using their well established reputations to make the rather plain observation that Musk's Twitter is becoming a haven of anti semites, conspiracy theories, and other overt bigots, so obviously the reasonable response is to whine about the "woke mind virus".

Based on what we've heard from advertisers, ADL seems to be responsible for most of our revenue loss.

Giving them maximum benefit of the doubt, I don't see any scenario where they're responsible for less than 10% of the value destruction, so ~$4 billion.

Document discovery of all communications between The ADL and advertisers will tell the full story.

If there's one thing advertisers love, it's having their private correspondence made public as part of a frivolous lawsuit.

Musk needs a boogie man to blame because he's unable to admit that his leadership is responsible for running Twitter into the ground.

Given musk's long habit of promising things he has no intention and/or ability to deliver, there's no reason to believe he will actually sue the ADL
 
he is pretty close to figuring out the problem is that advertisers run the internet. but, he's stuck on jews so not sure he'll ever get there.

goes without saying, convincing others not to buy certain products is a pretty basic use of free speech. which he is the king of. so he knows a lot about it.

Running a profitable business now joining the big pile of things that indicate you're captured by the woke mind virus.

It's kind of funny considering, until relatively recently, Facebook was once the place to post all this right wing crap and deep-fried Boomer nonsense. It's only after bad press and presumably fears of losing advertiser dollars that Facebook started doing more work to police extremist and conspiracy content on their services (to mixed results). It's still the home to your radicalized grandma and grandpa sharing insane memes, but some the most overt conspiracy and extremist content have been tempered a bit. Nowadays you have to go to Twitter to get the uncut crazy stuff.

Musk's twitter is going through the same growing pains, but rather than react to market forces and acknowledge that far-right wing and conspiracy content is advertiser and userbase poison, Musk is doubling down and insisting he's right and the advertisers are wrong.

Now Musk is ditching YouTube for showing the SpaceX launch streams and broadcasting them on Twix (love that name!). Still not going there.

A shame really, I liked their presenters, especially Mr Norminal - John Inspruker.

You'd think at some point the shareholders at these other companies might have a legit gripe about how Musk seems to have huge conflicts of interest in his various ventures. Making SpaceX broadcast their marketing on the dying Twitter in an attempt to shore up his bad purchase seems like the kind of thing that should be met with intense scrutiny from those holding an ownership stake in the company and don't benefit from Musk self-dealing this way.

People have joked that Musk's disastrous running of Twitter has been good for SpaceX and/or Tesla because he's too distracted to interfere with the people there who actually do all the important work, but I could easily see Musk's obsession with Twitter becoming a black hole that sucks up these other companies as well, assuming shareholders don't revolt.
