Yesterday's mass shooting has prompted the Orange County Register to publish an article today covering prior mass shootings that occurred in Orange County, California.


It is a great example of reality vs the narrative.

A breakdown of the shooters:

David Wenwei Chou – Asian

Aminadab Gaxiola Gonzalez – Latino

Yeah, but...that's kind of right in there, demographics-wise? Orange is 39% white, 34% Latino, 21% Asian. Considering the very small sample size and the wild card of a rare-ish Middle Eastern guy, that's +/- spot on for even representation.

ETA: I mean,you could look at this graphic and say most mass shooters in this sampling were in fact white. No other group had 3 or more represented, and you can't really break down to "white guys, and everybody not white"

What narrative, that the USA is an outlier and is insane when it comes to gun crimes? You keep posting reports that confirm that with every post.

And as an ETA it is only the USA that has such a fine one drop blood categorization of its citizens.

In regard to representation, Orange County is an outlier. I would guess is extremely rare to have that type of equal demographic representation.

Most of the time people like those I mentioned above don't offer this level of nuance. To them it's binary, white/nonwhite. Using their standard, whites do not commit the most mass shootings.

The Choctaw chief of police actually has balls, unlike the Minneapolis police, and came straight out and described the suspect. ''Black male in a gray hoodie." Refreshing.

All 3 victims were black, the shooter was white and the shooter left behind a manifesto saying he wanted to "kill ************" but let's not jump to any conclusion about motive.
 
It's convenient for the apologist set to have black on black shootings. It offers some camouflage by which to diminish the actual race-based killing. And they would like this state of affairs to be maintained, at least. Keep pressurizing the already oppressed so that their intra community violence provides a muddying smokescreen.
 
A gunman killed three black people in a racially motivated attack then killed himself in Jacksonville, Florida, the city's sheriff said.

The man, described as white and in his early 20s, entered a Dollar General store and opened fire, triggering a standoff with police.

Sheriff T K Waters said two men and a woman were killed by the gunman, who wore body armour and left manifestos.

The narrative is Americans of every colour, faith and ideology kill other Americans with guns at a rate that bewiders those of us who live elsewhere in the Western world. And sure, it seems a lot of it is crime and gang related but there is a significant proportion of mass killings that seem to be promoted by racism, often expressed through white supremacy. You can't ignore any of these motivations if you wabt to fix your problems, and at the moment white supremacy is especially worrying as it seems to have dug its claws deep into one of your major political parties.
