Chris pretends that this is the very first time the Secret Service found coke in the White House - because there never was a JFK and the like.

The assumption that the Service doesn't know how to deal with something like this discreetly is naïve, at best.

At the very minimum, leaking this event is a retaliatory move by the Secret Service - it's also a warning to Biden to stop investigating their role in Jan 6th, lest they happen to find a dead hooker next.

Evidence? Cocaine being found in the White House? That seems to be clear. Or evidence someone in the Biden family has had Cocaine drug related issues? Seems as though it should be a pretty easy crime to solve.

Mmm. So no, you don't have any meaningful evidence beyond that cocaine was found.

Since you brought up Hunter Biden specifically it would seem you have a working knowledge of his alleged drug abuse, likely from the Laptop information and pics that were labeled as "Russian disinformation".

More specifically, a number of people who can reasonably be trusted about Russian disinformation stated that the Hunter Biden laptop matter, as handled by those pushing it, pretty perfectly fit the MO for Russian disinformation, but that no actual conclusions could reasonably be made without actually seeing the evidence there. If you want to blame anyone for the association of Hunter Biden's laptop and Russian disinformation, one need look no further than the Republicans who made it look that way and actively prevented the evidence from being examined. At least then you'd be barking up the right tree, rather than simply casting about nonsense aspersions and pretend victimization. Republicans beclowned themselves when it came to Hunter Biden's laptop, among many, many other things, and then have the audacity to try to whine about others for not hanging on their every word, no matter how constantly and consistently they rely on nonsense, fallacy, and falsehoods in general.

So, a grain of salt with the possible "Russian disinformation". Even if he's not "the guy" he's still a suspect during the investigation based on that information.

Perhaps. That's a matter for the actual investigators working with the evidence, though, rather than those who have naught but malicious and empty speculation to offer.

What do you base this claim on? From what I've found, a free lance journalist named Andrew Leyden was the first to break the story when he noticed men in hazmat suits at the WH:

"Andrew Leyden
@PenguinSix
This is my video Sunday night from the White House when the cocaine was discovered, starting about 5 minutes in. The mainstream media picked up on this story about 48 hours later. Hazmat call at the White House with a strange ending.

I base my claim on a hazmat team being called in such a visible way, or at all.

Clearly, someone in the chain of command of the Secret Service decided to cover THEIR arse instead of the president's, as is their job.

Unknown potentially dangerous substance found in the White House? Calling hazmat may not actually be out of line at all. Also, at last check, Secret Service is there to protect the President and family as well as foreign dignitaries, not quite to cover the President's arse. That too many were willing to work to do so for Trump seems more indicative of systemic political bias in personnel available and deemed qualified for the job.

With that said, it's entirely possible that the Secret Service's misdeeds related to Jan. 6 are directly or indirectly related to this incident, but I'm willing to wait a little for investigation results or other actually relevant evidence to work with to avoid jumping to conclusions.

Actually, no, covering for the President and his family IS part of the job, as the Service knows it can only do the job if the people they are responsible for trust them.

And there are reports that there is not much trust between Biden and the secret service.

They knew it was real. They lied.

No thoughts on a Trump friendly Secret Service agent planting it?

Seems a high risk/low reward idea. Seriously, what exactly do you think would happen to an agent if they got caught? And for what? You think this is going to bring down the Biden presidency? Of course it won't. And of course no SS agent is going to think it would, especially since Hunter, not Joe, is the one with the cocaine use history.

I think the odds on that being the source are many magnitudes greater than any Biden family involvement whatsoever.

You find it unlikely that someone who regularly did cocaine in the past might relapse and do cocaine again? You find it implausible that someone doing cocaine might make some bad decisions about what to do with that cocaine? Are you completely unfamiliar with Hunter's history?

Do tell. The closest evidence I have seen of Cocaine in the White House was a story about a Historians theory on how FDR's Doctor "may" have used a watered down version of Cocaine as a topical anesthetic before inserting a needle to drain fluid to treat FDR's sinus condition.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/jul/06/cocaine-in-the-white-house-a-brief-history

From the story at The Guardian:

"In addition to hypertension and heart disease in his later years, the president had chronic sinus conditions. Cocaine is a powerful vasoconstrictor, which means it tightens blood vessels, unlike many other topical anesthetics, which loosen blood vessels and can make bleeding worse. And in the 1930s and 1940s, when Roosevelt held office, the go-to treatment for nasal swelling was a watered-down cocaine solution, applied by a cotton swab, to quickly shrink and numb a patient’s nasal tissue, before inserting a needle to drain out sinus fluid."

Taken with a grain of salt for validity but it is acceptable that topical anesthetics contained Cocaine and many still do use a derivative of it. As anyone who's ever been to a Dentist will likely know about.

The rugs at the White House must be getting very lumpy by now.

Oh of course, those pesky Republicans are responsible for hiding away Hunter's laptop just before the 2020 elections. Working with Media companies and the like to kill the Hunter Laptop stories.

This is rich indeed! Thank you.

More specifically, there was a heck of a lot of screaming about Hunter Biden's laptop, while refusing access using claims of lack of trust so that the MSM couldn't actually perform even the least bit of due diligence, which thus prevented the MSM from being able to ethically publish much. Republicans beclowned themselves in the process.

In other words, no, they didn't appear to be working with media companies and the like to kill the Hunter Laptop story (and especially not like Republicans have been caught doing for other stories for Trump). They just wanted the MSM to ditch otherwise basic things like responsibility and standards, using false right-wing narratives about MSM media as justification, and the MSM refused to ditch such. Once said media outlets were eventually allowed access, they did publish more relevant information, though. Whine all you like, you're just demonstrating how badly you've let yourself be fooled by the utterly unethical right-wing propaganda machine, yet again. Just like with Trump's documents indictment, others practically bent over backwards to be accommodating and work with the people in question, but the people in question refused. When there were normal consequences for refusing, well, clearly, the Party of Personal Responsibility has this habit of refusing to take any responsibility at all for the consequences of their own actions and those like you seem perfectly happy to work to aid and abet such utter irresponsibility.

What is implausible is that if said person had relapsed a quantity of some kind, (baggie or loose), would be left somewhere tourists and other members of the public have access to.

It has all the hallmarks of being planted. And I'd bet if they scanned through those security videos they might even be able to find said member of the public leaving it there. But that isn't certain as we don't know if every inch of the property is under video surveillance.

In addition a quick search gets one several accounts such as this one:

Newsweek: Hunter Biden Timeline As Cocaine at the White House Investigated
Hunter Biden was not at the White House when Secret Service agents discovered a white powder identified as cocaine, but that has not stopped some from alleging the president's son was linked to it.

WHAT? White powder was being sent to politicians in three states. A baggie containing white powder, which could have been ricin or anthrax, was found at the WH and you think sending a hazmat team to collect it was the SS covering THEIR arse?

Unbelievable.

That's... not where it was found.

That is where it was found:

Secret Service agents found traces of the illegal narcotic while President Joe Biden was away at Camp David for a retreat, and later confirmed it was in the West Wing lobby where guests enter before taking private tours.

The New York Times reported that it was found near an area where guests are screened for security and leave their phones in small cubby holes.

The AP reported that the area is also open to staff-led tours of the West Wing, which are scheduled for nonworking hours on the weekends and evenings. There were tours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday last week, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said.

The funniest option is that some tour guest didn't realize they had coke on their person until right before the security screening and decided dumping it was the best course of action.
