Cont: Transwomen are not women - part XI

Do you use this same response when you're talking about race-related situations? Do you dismiss the lifelong experiences of black people as "made up" if they can't produce statistics that meet your arbitrary threshold for credibility?

When black people talk about the disparate treatment they receive from cops and the justice system, do you dismiss it with the same degree of condescension that you show toward females?

It's quite easy to demonstrate this disparate treatment.

As I said before: bad things happen when authorities abdicate their responsibility to enforce order. Authorities have abandoned any effort to maintain sex segregation, and this is one of those bad side effects.

You're knocking over Chesterton's fence and acting surprised when you don't get what you wanted.

Alternatively, this entire bathroom freakout is intended to demonize trans people and embolden vigilante action.

Kinda seems like the motives of a vigilante mob beating the **** out of a trans person is central to the merits.

The merits of our arguments in this thread, where no one is advocating anyone beat up anyone else?

No, those other people's motives aren't even remotely relevant to the merits of our arguments here. But your consistent, repeated failure to address those argument directly is rather relevant.

I've made a request for mod clarity in the forum feedback section on what exactly counts as on topic for this thread. I've yet to get a response, but I'm assuming that the thread topic has broaden quite a bit in the 11 pages since the OP.

Just post what you want to post if you think it's in keeping with where the thread is now. If your post gets moved, then adapt, but don't use the mods as an excuse for dodging questions.

I do wonder if the "woman is entirely defined by gender and not biological characteristics" is a sincere belief of the trans activists, or if it's just a necessary adjunct of the intention to allow entire males to enter females personal spaces (in every sense of he word)

I'm sure there's a mix, but your list isn't complete. Another factor in this whole dynamic is the imperative for activists to get funding. As Eric Hoffer said, “Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.” Gay rights has been going through that process. After gay marriage became widely accepted, funding for gay rights groups started drying up. No need to fund activists when you've achieved your goals. But the activists still wanted to be employed, so they needed a new cause. And they found one with trans rights. That's why it's LGBTQ+ even though "trans" isn't a sexuality. And in case this isn't obvious, for the purposes of grift, having goals that get a lot of pushback is a feature not a bug. The longer it takes to achieve your goals, the better. Or as the demotivator put it regarding consulting, if you're not part of the solution, there's good money to be made off of prolonging the problem.

Is that too cynical?

Even more briefly, because trans women are women. If you're going to make a "women's" room, that's where trans women belong. Likewise for men and trans men.

You are RETROACTIVELY changing the meaning of the term "women" in this context. Historically it was meant literally - it meant females of the human species. You are taking it upon yourself to change that meaning to a figurative one, where "women" means "people who feel an alignment with social stereotypes of females regardless of their sex".[/I]

I would not assume that TG actually means to say that women are "people who feel an alignment with social stereotypes of females regardless of their sex" but I'd be willing to bet they won't say what it DOES mean when they use the term, so I suppose your guess is as good as any.

Feel free to stop whining about my comments being off topic then

Every vague definition of "woman" that has been broadened to include males essentially breaks down into an affinity for social stereotypes.

I am perplexed by one thing.
The only trans person I ever knew was my brother.
I don't believe he was part of a trans community, yet many posters here talk of having a lot of trans friends.
How is this realistically true?

There is a long-established large trans community in Auckland, the majority of whom are fa'afafine and other Polynesian cultures.

If you're friends with one, you're friends with all.

It's not that difficult.
