It's hard to imagine anything worse than being stuck in a war zone, but stuck in a war zone with James Cleverly as Foreign Secretary would probably do it. (Mind you, none of the last few incumbents would have filled me with much hope)
 
I think Sunak is shaping up to be the best PM for a decade.
 
But of course, the previous four were probably the worst 4 in history, possibly with Chamberlain vying for one of the slots

On the Today programme this morning I'm sure I heard them announcing a report on Sudan from a correspondent who was observing the situation from Johannesburg.

It sounds dire.

As usual this government demonstrates that even for the most serious and urgent matters they can't actually do anything.

Now if there was an opportunity for them, their spouses or donors to profit from it...

Don't get me wrong, the people on the ground would be little, if any, better off, but something pretty damned expensive to the tax payer would be going down.

I had an almost fatal head injury in 1989. Cricket ball. So, I don't drive. Because of this, I have sod all dosh and last travelled abroad in 1994. (Day that Senna died.)

I used to be politically involved by don't much care any more.
 
It's gerrymandering on a national scale. Look at what is acceptable ID, you will note that most ID accepted is what the "more likely to vote Tory" folk will have.

I disagree, it's voter suppression on a national scale.

Gerrymandering is the partisan designing of constituencies/electoral districts and AFAIK there's no evidence to support that so long as the electoral commission remains independent.
 
It's also sure to lead to delays at the polling stations & I wonder if this is deliberate too, it's going to effect busier, urban areas more than rural ones, people working contracted hours worse than those who can set their own schedules (due to seniority or retirement) and carers or people with young children. Not to mention of course that older people have traditionally been more likely to have a postal vote already.
