And as Raab complains about the process and minimizes his offences Sunak is talking about changing the rules for investigating such matters.

Maria Hyde is good, again.

So what now of Sunak, the hardest man in the luxury knitwear aisle?

Actually, hang on. During a discussion of Raab’s conduct, Ministry of Justice officials were told by Foreign Office counterparts that “people had died” in the Afghanistan evacuation because of Dom’s refusal to review documents in formats he didn’t like. Maybe we can split the difference and go with “people died, but not these people”?

I expect there to now be a lot of trading of anecdotes about what is and what is not bullying;

https://twitter.com/amandajplatell/status/1649684904303554563

"What is bullying in the workplace? Expecting high standards and diligent work?

Let’s call out incompetence and not allow this new culture of laziness and flakiness, especially in the Tory-hating Civil Service, to be confused with bullying.

As an example, this week a presenter colleague was called for his views by a 21-year-old politics graduate ‘producer’ on a radio show who admitted she hadn’t even read the brief. When he asked her to call him back when she had read it, she dissolved in tears and hung up. The next day he’d been reported to HR for bullying and damaging her mental health, because ‘he made me cry’. This is just crazy."

In that example, it depends on how the presenter spoke to the young producer. That is the crux of what has happened with Raab. There are ways of explaining faults and problems to people, including being respectful, nice and bullying. The evidence is that Raab could, at times, which is standard for a bully, be a bully. Bully don't bully everyone around them. They need allies.

Meanwhile, some sections of the Labour Party can't bear to see the Tories screw up more than they do - see various stories about Dianne Abbott having the whip removed for a letter to The Observer which was held to be anti-semitic.

Oh I'm sure Keir Starmer will be delighted to have an excuse to be rid of her, and unlike the Tories she was suspended immediately without trying to blame the people who were offended by her remarks for being 'snowflakes'.

She should be expelled for the letter and her non-apology.

I think it should be pretty clear even to Abbott that neo-nazis, like their heroes hate those of Jewish ancestry.

Looks like Abbott went the full Whoopi Goldberg - only "poc" suffer racism, the rest are just attacked for being "white minorities"

That appears to be a dynamic link, currently the headline is:
"UK evacuates British embassy staff and families from Sudan in wake of ‘significant threats’ – as it happened"

This should link directly to the story:

She's been on her way out for a while, this might just provide an excuse for Starmer to show her the door.

Equating the holocaust with being called a ginger is certainly a hot take. I hope Starmer finds the backbone to sack her.

Braverman again

Her question to
@ipsaUK
concerned whether a speeding ticket incurred during the course of parliamentary duties could be claimed on expenses. Rather embarrassed, the representatives from
@ipsaUK
said no.

No assurances UK nationals will be rescued from Sudan, says minister
Andrew Mitchell said about 2,000 Britons in Sudan had registered with the Foreign Office, and the government was “exploring every single possible way of getting them out”.

I wonder if they've thought of sending them to Rwanda.
