Go woke, go broke

Lol. [emoji12]

Coors did this decades ago in response to the massive backlash of their then anti-gay policies. They've been "woke" for 40 years. [emoji2]

I guess Jack Daniels is in for it now as well. Just today saw an article with some nut protesting whatever it is they've done by burning all of his treasured JD stock and kitsch.
100 and 200 dollar bottles, plus many regular ones; large mirror and signage all the branded glassware and whatever else made up his JD themed home bar.
Talk about 'triggered'. [emoji15]

Honestly don't care if they shoot up their own Buds or Coors or JD's or whatever. As long as they paid for it all first, I'm sure the makers are good with that too.

And considering how many brands of beer are made by the same conglomerate that makes Bud Light, if they switch brands, unless they do their research, it's likely to be to just another made by the same company or owned by the same multinational corporation.

Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV, commonly known as AB InBev,[2][3] is a Belgian multinational drink and brewing company based in Leuven, Belgium.[4][5][6] AB InBev has a global functional management office in New York City, and regional headquarters in São Paulo, London, St. Louis, Mexico City, Bremen, Johannesburg and others.[7] It has approximately 630 beer brands in 150 countries.[1]

Goes to show, yet again, that the conservatives are the biggest cancellers.

Already happened. [emoji2]

Some big name... country star or wrestler maybe, who cares... made a big deal with a vid showing how easy it was to get rid of his Bud lite. Open his fridge... none in there.Doesnt drink the stuff.
What a guy.
But half the other beers, some brand I've never seen... we're AB products. [emoji12]

Perhaps you're thinking of Texas Representative Dan Crenshaw?

Yeah, watching Brainster and other right wingers buy into this performative nonsense by the Kid Rocks and Crenshaws of the right-wing-o-spere, breathlessly thinking that all those people who run out and buy bud light just to film themselves destroying it will finally kill "wokeness" is funny. Did they learn nothing from the Nike and Keurig temper tantrums?

Preface: dont get me wrong, I agree conservatives in the US are a bunch of whinny babies who participate in "cancel culture" while bitching about "cancel culture".

But, this has to be, perhaps, one of the biggest marketing fails of all time. Seriously, how could the marketing exec who came up with/approved this have not guessed at the backlash by Bud's "bread and butter" rednecky clientele??? Have they not seen how they get their little panties in a bunch every time a product goes "woke"? Hell it wouldn't surprise me if it comes out that said exec got a 7 figure amount wired to a numbered Swiss account from Molson-Coors. And the potential upside was to maybe get a few thousand people from the LGBTQ community to switch to drinking marco swill.... the vast majority of them have better taste.

When Trump was making a big stink about immigration, Budweiser based their superbowl ad on pointing out that they were founded by immigrants. Budweiser seems to have been able to point out that said rednecky clientele were wrong before. Why do we imagine that this time it will be different?

Yeah but they were the "good kind" of immigrants... white. So it didn't bother any of Bud's clientele... since the vast majority of them are descendants of immigrants just like the vast majority of Americans.

I wonder how many people posting videos of them destroying their beer or liquor don't actually care and only do it because they know it gets them attention/ money.

Hmm...
More than the truly butthurt percentage would admit, but far lower a percentage than the Flerfers who are actually just larping trolls. [emoji52]

Thanks, it was indeed Eye Patch Ken... sorry, Dan.

He got lost in the mass of his fellow snowflakes.

Well, now we'll never know as the LGBT crowd have jumped to the boycott Budweiser camp:

Rather than come to the defense of a transgender woman, rather than defend a noble campaign that sought to reflect acceptance, and rather than let the campaign with Mulvaney speak for itself, Budweiser poured alcohol all over an extremist's fire, and that will continue to singe our community.

Maybe the worst thing Budweiser did was leave Mulvaney all alone, twisting in the wind, abandoning any kind of defense of her. That is an utterly repugnant reflection of the brand.

Anheuser-Busch, weakly, did not stand up against hate. And while boycotts don't work, they do make a statement. It's not Kid Rock and Ted Nugent that should be boycotting Budweiser — it should be us.
