Drag Shows!!

Stacyhs. I just caught your arguments with EC, and I confess that I'm s bit stunned at your interpretation of relationships. Like, flat flabbergasted.

So...serious question for you: who would a partner for a man who identifies as a woman be?

And think it through. A man identifies as a woman. You seem to think he would be into...what, a straight guy? Said straight guy would look down and see the schlong and explain "GTFOOH, I'm straight, dude".

So would a man who identifies as a woman choose a woman? Only if he identifies as a lesbian, which is not claimed and poses further conundrums anyway, from the actual woman's point of view.

The only option for a man who identifies as a woman would be a gay man. What other option do you see that makes orientation sense for both parties?

I mean, if a guy thinks he's a woman, and tries.to hook up with a woman who thinks she's a guy, they wouldn't find each other attractive, orientation wise. They would both have to identify as the opposite gender as what they are, and both be gay in their respective identities. Which kind of makes them a highly confused straight couple.

What you guys are hitting on is the dating dilemma trans people face.
Straight males may be attracted to a trans-woman. At least until genitals come into play at which time, if nothing else, most will find them to be sexually incompatible.

But gay men are not going to find them attractive either. Because they are attracted to people who look like men.

Similarly, straight men are not likely to be attracted to a trans man with a beard.

Attraction is more complex than matching up genitals or matching of presentation. It's a combination of both. Some men, straight or gay, may be more flexible than others about either presentation or genitals.

I'm not sure we quite have the right terminology available.

It's possible that we need to do something like separate gay/straight from homosexual/heterosexual just like man/woman and male/female.

With the anti-drag laws, I've got it figured out.

It would apparently be perfectly ok if a trans-man dresses up in drag.

I think that would make the anti-wokers heads explode like the robot women on Star Trek.

But I think there is actually a kernal of insight there. Being a trans-man is an identity. Dressing in drag is performative.

It's almost something I'd be interested in seeing.

Another transwoman or a bisexual person.

But two transwomen would either be lesbian, from the identity POV, or gay men, from the mechanical POV. A bisexual wouldnt work, as a transwoman is not really either. Did you mean a pansexual?

Plus no one is claiming that transanything is involved. "Identifying" as a woman doesn't really mean you are "transing", if I understand the distinction correctly. Identifying is just something you say, not something you are.

I expect they meant bisexual. I have no idea why you think a bisexual couldn't date a trans woman. Bisexual just means we aren't hung up on the sex or gender of the people we are attracted to. Pansexual is just a term for what most people mean by bisexual.

So, take my friend back in the early eighties. Her partner was a cis woman and they both called themselves lesbians. They were in love and very happy and didn't care if that got the label police's knickers in a twist.

The Crying Game with a bisexual male lead would be boring, he would be like "Oh, I wasn't expecting that".and carry on.

Let's get back to drag. My Drag Wall of Fame. Still a work in progress, but I think it illustrates well the vile corrupting force this marginal practice has on our society.

Because I have been corrected multiple times, including on this forum, for suggesting that bi and pan are the same thing. On thinking about it, it makes kinda sorta sense, as a bi guy wouldn't be getting down with a lesbian. There's a mechanical problem.

Make you a deal: y'all get consistent with what you mean, and I'll comply with your terminology. But as long as any given 10 people will give 12 different definitions, then I get to make up my own as well.

Bisexual just means we aren't hung up on the sex or gender of the people we are attracted to. Pansexual is just a term for what most people mean by bisexual.

That's not really consistent with any definition I've heard anywhere, ever. Bisexuality is usually defined as dual sexual orientation, removed entirely from gender issues (which we get beat with the woke stick constantly and told are not the same thing, except *jazz hands* when it is argumentatively convenient.

You use "she" for both, and say they are lesbian. That's a female lesbian couple. If you typoed and meant "he" for one of them it makes more sense. But that would make them a heterosexual couple. So what is your example supposed to illustrate? They wouldn't really be lesbian, because there is this dick in the game with them. If a dick comes into play, it's not lesbian sex pretty much by definition.

I have the feeling you are conflating terminology deliberately. It doesn't help a discussion to do so.

Ain't I lucky having someone to straightsplain bisexuality to me.

Thermal, maybe I should repeat the operative part of my post:

The label police, that's you right now Thermal, in case you hadn't realised.

No, you're having a straight guy expressing frustration with your deliberately deceptive terminology. Should you choose to not equivocate your terms, we might actually get somewhere without the endlessly condescending horse ****.

To abundantly repeat, if you are referring to a male as a "she" without clarifying that you mean a male who identifies as a woman, you are not being honest, full stop.

Ah. Now you're claiming I'm lying when I tell you what bisexuality means to me and to every bisexual I talk to.

If you want to pretend it is deceptive in some undisclosed way then fine

I couldn't really give a ****.

But it's really quite simple

I see a good looking guy in the street, I'm sexually attracted.

I see a good looking woman, I'm sexually attracted. If they feel the same way maybe we get something going. Maybe we fall in love. Or maybe it's just a one night stand, or a short fling.

But whether they are male or female, trans or cis is irrelevant and I can't imagine why anyone thinks it is relevant.

I have no idea why you think that is deceptive and as usual you won't explain.

I've been a bisexual for fifty years, I think I know what it's all about.

And it's kind of funny that a non-bisexual tells me, a bisexual that I am wrong about what bisexuality is and he calls me condescending:)
