Greta Thunberg - brave campaigner or deeply disturbed? Part II.

Maybe we should try for a "Herd Immunity" approach by doing nothing until the consequences kill a lot of us, reducing CO2 emissions dramatically. /s

The problem is that the people who make lots of money/wealth by burning fossil fuels are probably in the best position to survive the distributed consequences. It will take a lot of low carbon-producing people dying for the results to reach the high carbon-producing.

Greta appeared on the Russell Howard show recently talking about her book. Howard is a comedian and accordingly this interview is absolutely hilarious, but they do get into some pretty serious topics as well. It's 27:42 long. Enjoy!

On the flip side, there's always the nuclear option. Just think...if Russia and the G7 got into it the world could be experiencing Greta's social/climate paradise in an afternoon. /s

Atmospheric adulteration on an epic scale, termination of almost all industrial activity, and a drastic reduction in the human population? Yeah, that would do the trick.

One of the ironies of Extinction Rebellion is that extinguishing 99%of the human population would pretty much solve their problems, for the remaining 8 million or so.

Awwww...don't be such a Debbie Downer. Think of the upside. There's be no older White cis-het males around to feel "threatened" by Thunberg and, let's face it, it's all this industrial stuff that got us into this problem in the first place. Think of happy people, working away in the fields and seaweed farms and getting everywhere using only active transportation...but with phones.

As António Guterres (remember him, he's the guy that said shutting down air travel from southern Africa amounts to travel apartheid) said at COP 27 today Humanity is on a highway to climate hell so if we go quickly or slowly, the end result is the same.

Speaking of COP27. it's a trillion dollars/year developing nations are looking for (excluding China) and up to $2.4 trillion/year by 2030 so climate activists better get themselves out there, glue themselves to highways, bridges or artworks and wear t-shirts demanding their governments raise their taxes...big time.

Yes it was a strange one for sure. First Guterres comes out with his apartheid comment then a couple of months later the Canadian government makes it impossible for Canadians to fly directly to Mexico or the Caribbean. Just part of those mixed messages governments and their "experts" are so fond of sending out.

I think by now we've all figured out the real reason Greta Thunberg isn't going to COP27. A professional protester going to protest in a (developing) country that has an a rather unfriendly approach to activists, what could possibly go wrong? I mean, would you try to save humanity by raising awareness about climate change if there was a chance you'd get thrown in some hellhole prison for an indeterminate length of time? I sure wouldn't.

It looks like nothing happened at COP27 today but my man on the ground tells me the canapés were simply divine.

Greta Thunberg has decided to join a lawsuit against the Swedish government who are, presumably, going to lose and force the oil gobbling Swedes into a far greener lifestyle.

This is good and coupled with the EUs temper tantrum and threatened walkout at COP 27 as they still subscribe to the 1.5C fantasy we should be seeing energy prices continue to spike across the EU with a corresponding drop in emissions, of course.

More good climate news. The EU is pitching a fit over American gas prices so let's hope they buckle down and refuse to but the product at those clearly extortionate rates.

It's funny. A year ago I hoped to have a developed nation to watch as they made the transition to a Greta Thunbergian Utopia, Maybe Australia, or that weird one beside it but now? Now it looks like I'll have an entire continent to cheer on. :)

Greta FTW!

A dickhead who's had too many (or not enough) blows to the head Tweets:

Hello @GretaThunberg

I have 33 cars.

My Bugatti has a w16 8.0L quad turbo.

My TWO Ferrari 812 competizione have 6.5L v12s.

This is just the start.

Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions.

The legendary genius that is Greta Tweeted back a simple and withering response:

yes, please do enlighten me. email me at smalldickenergy@getalife.com

I was reading the article about that yesterday and couldn't stop laughing. Tate is the definition of little dick energy too. He tried to talk **** in return by saying, "How dare you?!" but it was over by then. That was awesome.

Haha oh wow. Greta Thunberg is in an internet slapfight with Andrew Tate? Climate change is about to destroy global civilization unless we take drastic measures literally yesterday, and this is the kind of win you're putting on the board?

No, Tate tried talking ****, Greta put him down for the count. There's no slap fight.

We can't enjoy someone getting mocked because climate change exists? I bet this sounded way more witty in your head than it does on paper. He thought he was going to make her look stupid by bringing up the fact he has some gas guzzling supercars. Hell, she didn't even mention him. He brought it to her.

Greta has helped push changes to help curb climate change almost her entire life. She has several "wins". That you can't just laugh this off says a lot about you. Nothing new, but a lot.

She really bothers you, doesn't she?

LOL. No, Tate is one of those Internet jerkasses who never goes down. Heap as much abuse on him as you want, he'll ignore it and keep on being obnoxious. Greta's wrestling with a pig.

I guess we view it differently.

I used the wording I did because Tate had a short lived career as a kickboxer. So it was a play on words, if you will. Of course he'll get back up, and maybe he'll try going after her again. Usually something like this would give an intelligent person pause.

I think he's reached a significantly bigger audience than usual.this time & the vast majority isn't supportive.

The pro-troll motto is always some variation on "It's your fault for giving them attention."

Hahaha, good one!

Andrew Tate, is it? That weirdo is all over the Net, and apparently living king-size grifting off of incel types. It's amazing, the kinds of complete lowlifes that manage to get rich off of this crazy Youtube economy.

Well, it is what it is; but it's cool how this spunky young girl is able to stand up to bullies like Trump, and now this Tate character, trying to score cheap points off of what they imagine is a soft target.

Tate responded with a 2 minute video detailing all the ways he totally was not owned. It was the worst way he could have possibly responded.
