Electric universe theories here.

We were talking about stars specifically, and what powers them. I know you have a short attention span, but really, try harder to keep on track.

Stars are powered by fusion, not electricity. Electricity doesn't have enough energy to power stars. This was obvious even before the discovery of fusion.

How would you know what math can or cannot do? You can't do any math. Not even the simple stuff.

And you're wrong. Math can and does accommodate charge separation.

What you mean "we", white man?

YOU don't know much of anything about plasmas. You have learned a few buzzwords, but you don't understand any of them.

Fully understood plasma is not a gas.

Tell me more on plasmoids and charge seperation at play with ur “magentic reconnection”

You had the tail wag the dog for sometime now. Good to see you’ve caught up.

Tell me about "plasmoids and charge seperation" when you slide two business card type refrigerator magnets against each other? That such things as "plasmoids and charge seperation" can be "at play" when magnetic reconnection happens in some media neither makes them a requirement nor an underlying cause for magnetic reconnection in general. Just waging your tongue doesn't give you even a tail, let alone a dog.

so you link to a paper that contains everything you abhorr: MHD and magnetic reconnection, but you "believe" it because it says "current sheets".

the hypocracy burns my eyes.

Oh, it's worse than that: that paper is based on MATH!

I don't know who Ampreres is, and also don't know what a "smidge of charge seperation" should be and why it would occur.
You seem to just put some keywords together in nonsensical sentences (including numerous typos)

There is lots of E in MHD, but you have to understand it, what the equations mean and such, which you do not.
And then you keep on complaining about the mathamajics being too complicated and then link to papers with an enourmous amount of math (which you do not understand) that show that the math is not too complicated, or else the paper would not have been written.
Did you ever look at a plasma physics book? How everything is elegantly derived, and no that is not only MHD but also full kinetic plasma physics.
This "discussion" is just getting more and more ridiculous, as it always does, until it stops and then starts again from point zero in a few months.

Just how it is.

New discovery...the tearing instability.

You’ve mentioned it before but poo pooed it, why is that?

Seems it’s a thing in your “magnetic reconnection”. Ate you able explain?

Several people have explained, at length. Are you able to understand?

New discovery...the tearing instability.

HA! One of the first papers on tearing mode and reconnection was published in 1981 by Sato & Hasegawa.

You better keep up with your literature, Sol.

I probably have mentioned it at some point, I doubt I "poo pooed" it, that sounds more like your behaviour.

Seems it’s a thing in your “magnetic reconnection”. Ate you able explain?

I cannot eat an "able explain", sorry.
It is just one way that MRx can be started.

Indeed, then why keep harping on about magnetic field lines “reconnecting” when you actual meant a plasma instability within an electric current.

THE TEARING MODE INSTABILITY OF THIN CURRENT SHEETS: THE TRANSITION TO FAST RECONNECTION IN THE PRESENCE OF VISCOSITY

Also, given the extremely large aspect ratios of "ideally" reconnecting current sheets, microscopic processes, such as two-fluid and kinetic effects, might be fundamental in the initial stages of the fast current disruption (Cassak et al. 2005; Cassak & Drake 2013).

My bad...

Well, you can start by reading up on electric blankets. It will be as relevant as most of the stuff you post here.

Hans

So true.
It is clear that Sol88 still does not understand what a circuit description of plasma processes means, but then, who is surprised.

Well, you are the expert, so tell us.

Your MHD failed...again.

Magnetic reconnection is a breakdown of "ideal-magnetohydrodynamics" and so of "Alfvén's theorem" (also called the "frozen-in flux theorem") which applies to large-scale regions of a highly-conducting magnetoplasma, for which the Magnetic Reynolds Number is very large: this makes the convective term in the induction equation dominate in such regions.

Why do you even use MHD?

Every time you tweak it something “new” is discovered.

So, electric currents, electric fields and electric curcuit.

How will this Tearing instability, apply to the mysterious AGN “Jets”. And their particle acceleration.

The Universe is electric.

And when a so call “expert” asked, crickets.

Electric currents flow in curcuits...true. You’ve should look it up.

The question for a super duper space plasma physicist such as yourself is.

Why did the plasma current sheet tearing instability be mistaken for “reconnecting” magentic fields?

Are you able to answer?

Are you are aware of plasmoids?

Plasmoids appear to be plasma cylinders elongated in the direction of the magnetic field. Plasmoids possess a measurable magnetic moment, a measurable translational speed, a transverse electric field, and a measurable size. Plasmoids can interact with each other, seemingly by reflecting off one another. Their orbits can also be made to curve toward one another. Plasmoids can be made to spiral to a stop if projected into a gas at about 10−3 mm Hg pressure. Plasmoids can also be made to smash each other into fragments. There is some scant evidence to support the hypothesis that they undergo fission and possess spin.
