Surely that's the clearest possible evidence of why there must never be another Labour government in the UK? Because of the long term damage they do when they get in. :p

You say that in jest, but that's essentially the message that's being promoted. Everything that's wrong with Brexit has nothing to do with the architects or engineers of Brexit and everything to do with people who are not in power and who are not in positions of influence.

Can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think the next prime minister may be Liz Truss

In some ways that may be good news - can't see them winning an election with her.

Most of the talk is that Rishi would rather face her, even with the Tory party electorate, than Admiral Mordaunt - she'd have even more limited appeal with the wider electorate.

With the weight of the right wing press behind them, combined with the British English electorate's tendency to swing violently to the right in the event of an economic crisis, a piece of excrement with a blue rosette would get elected.

The alternative to a Truss-led Conservative government would be an ultra-left wing socialist government led by that renowned lockdown law-breaker Kier "Stalin" Starmer and his slutty sidekick Angela "Basic Instinct" Rayner

I'm of the opinion that, unless the blue rinse brigade accidentally confuse him with that "lovely Doctor Patel", Rishi Sunak is far to "exotic" to win over a majority of the Conservative Party members. It doesn't matter whether he faces Wallace or the Admiral.

There's a long time until we get to an election though.

...snip...

I've been surprised at the strong dislike many of the tory faithful around me have of him.

True but Truss is unlikely to be able to change how she comes across in public / the media - and she just comes across as a complete weirdo...and not in an 'eccentric but fun' way that Boris managed to fool some people with but in a 'steer well clear' way a la John Redwood. She's so socially awkward it's painful.

I don't know what you mean

So its Sunak vs. Truss with the ordinary not at all racist Tory party membership voting...

The smile after 'pork markets' genuinely looks like someone trying out a human body for the first time and being told 'Smile...smile....ok, sorry, a smile is when you pull both corners off your mouth up and possibly give a view of your teeth...go on, try it, pull both sides of your mouth up...oooh...er maybe don't smile...'

Well, the good news is that's the Tory Party finished. Bad news is it's probably the country finished too.
Slightly depends on how long this one lasts. I can see the next round of Tory civil war erupting in a few months.

Well if they end up with Truss, the optimist in me says there's no way she can get elected. Much as I hate Boris I sort of saw how the average thickie might have (wrongly) seen him as a lovable eccentric rogue - that's still no reason to elect him as our country's leader you daft twunts! But still, I sort of got it and that combined with the solid core of 'always blue' saw him in. But Truss - surely no floating voter is going to pick that? There's nothing there to empathise with, or be impressed by and you can't even settle for 'it'll be a laugh'.

Then the other part of me channels The Don and thinks Labour will find some way to **** it up.

It's going to be Truss, given how many TOries will ever vote for a Wog.....

Is it really necessary to use offensive racist terminology just because the favourite candidate is of South Asian ethnicity? If they are all so racist how come he has so far received the most votes of Tory MP's?

I love this clanger from Mary 'Liz' Truss. She is 'going to hit the ground from day one'.

She should have it translated into Latin and use as her motto.

Ledo terram ex die una!
