Well he can’t because Russia has already destroyed 12 of the 8 HIMARS that have been already sent to Ukraine.
I thought the story was that disaffected members of the Ukrainian Army had sold them, not that they had been captured in battle.
Of course that story is just as unbelievable.

To poke at the general subject... there was apparently a picture of a "captured" 777 howitzer picture from Lysychansk. It looked to me like it was abandoned because a building was dropped on it. Might be salvageable, might not. I certainly am no expert on that. It's quite questionable how much ammo they'll have for it, though, should it be salvageable, among other issues. Other than that, Luhansk separatist forces were apparently celebrating the capture of a reportedly unsalvagable 777 howitzer. It may well still serve, though... as a trophy. Dunno if it's the same one or not. Not much evidence of that kind of western weapon falling into Russian hands in usable condition. No evidence of any HIMARS captured, either, and even if they were, Russia lacks the ability to use them against Ukraine.
With those things said, on the small arms provided to Ukraine front, Russia's probably been able to capture some, and it can fairly safely be expected that at least a few of those small arms have been sold off on black markets, regardless. Ukraine certainly does have longstanding corruption issues as one of Russia's legacies, after all, regardless of how much progress has been made on that front. On the anti-tank weapons provided to Ukraine front, Russia's probably been able to capture some. This kind of thing should be neither surprise nor much deterrent when it comes to assessments about the value of the continued supply of weapons to Ukraine, though real effort should be put into mitigating the black market bits and punishing the offenders.

Thomas Röper is again in the Donbass on a tour, organized by Russian authorities, with around 40 international journalists, including, as he writes, for the first time German mainstream journalists in the form of three people from the ZDF ("Second German Television").
Two days ago they were in Severodonetsk and Lisitschansk, see report here. He says Severodonetsk is severly destroyed, even more than Mariupol was when he was there many weeks or even a month or two ago, while Lisitschansk is quite OK as the Kiev regime troops fled pretty quickly after the fall of Severodonetsk.
Yesterday they were indeed in Mariupol again, where the reconstruction is going on full-speed. He mentions again what I relayed to you that regions in Russia have taken up partnerships with cities in the Donbass. Mariupol reconstruction is sponsored by St. Petersburg and, as I've read elsewhere, Tula or something of that kind. Report just published here.

* They rely heavily on rail transport
* They rely on manual labor to load and offload trucks
* The new Ukrainian artillery is forcing the trains to stop 80+ km from the front instead of 30 km.
* They are short on trucks (1200 + already destroyed)
* Their ammo is shipped in wooden crates. (Reducing the amount of ammo a truck can carry) Nato ammo is shipped in racks maximizing their transport space.

The latest just published MoD Russia report is interesting. According to them, the "enemy" casualties of yesterday are way into the four digits. A lot around Kramatorsk and Sloviansk. Interesting item, apparently the Nazis are refusing orders of the military:
