Your source would be more convincing if the Russians hadn't made ridiculously edited videos in the beginning days of the...whatever they're calling it, to make themselves look better.

Is there anything else to support that the Ukrainians are giving up their weapons outside of this report? Are there videos or pictures of the Ukrainians surrendering with the weapons? Are there pictures of the Russians using the weapons that they received? Is there any rock solid evidence that the claims in your linked story are true?

Impartial? Hardly. Normal people are repulsed by professional liars, and will work hard to refute them.

Although, when we see what sorts of minds are influenced by crude Russophile lies, perhaps the problem is not really so serious.

Who could have foreseen that? Certainly not certain "western" fairy tale narrators who seem to deny that there are things like a black market, or corruption, or criminality and organized crime, or even severe poverty, in Ukraine. Just a lot of little Zelenskis with green shirts fighting heroically for "the Good™".

Meanwhile, the Russians are posting videos from empty trenches and fortifications in the woods around the Blue Lakes, which are two thirds on the way from Lisitschansk to Sloviansk.

Get a grip. If Vlady had a HIMARS he'd be inspecting it, in person on a prime time news program showing it off to every journalist in Moscow.
 
All of Putin's generals have to tell him HIMARS is inferior to the Russian artillery. Because, that is what they've been telling him for 20 years.
 
Sure, the Ukrainians are selling off their fancy new Western weapons systems to Russia but you can't see any pictures of them because they go to a different school now.

Is all of Russia's propaganda being written by 13 year olds?

Well I was thinking along similar lines. But actually, thinking about the demonstrated Russian approaches to safety and the background level of fires... shrug
 
The sad thing is it's Russia. The Ukrainians taking credit for Russian weapons systems just spontaneously exploding is ALMOST plausible.

Like seriously after the Cold War ending our strategy for defeating the Russian Surface Fleet basically become "Just keep them out to sea long enough they start to sink on their own."
 
Why would it be the actual new weapons the Russians are buying, anyway? If I were a Ukrainian black marketeer I'd be tempted to sell them any old crap, and say "Yeah, sure, that's the stuff we just got from the Americans." And, of course, that would explain why the Russians think their kit is so much better.

I had a thought like this too, what would be the bonus in gaining a bunch of weapons that they a) aren't familiar with using b) can't acquire training for and c) probably doesn't use their ammunition.

I suppose just getting it off the battlefield would help, but I can't imagine they'd get much use out of the other stuff.

Ah thanks for another post that has me greatly relieved. :)

You see, I had read previously that some of the early Western artillery pieces got thrown into battle a little early and piecemeal, and in the process got destroyed and possibly even captured when UA troops retreated. Could that be true?

Now I know it is all a lies and wishful thinking, and Russia is really scared **** of the superior fire coming their way.
