Seems to me that if you can be converted to Judaism, then it's not about race, and to me, that makes Whoopi right, but of course, you can disagree if you want.

It is actually really complicated. A jewish school in the UK got ruled against for using the wrong definition of jewish in 2009 for example.

They were letting in ethnic jews of other religions but baring converts to less stringent forms of judaism.

I don't know... I think it's possible to point out that someone made an ignorant statement without implying that they are just as bad as someone responsible for genocide and more.

In 2022? Yes, of course you're mistaken. Nuance is not in fashion. Whoopi Goldberg said something about the Holocaust and race! You're supposed to grab a pitchfork and scream for her blood, not consider what was said. Duh.

To be fair, nuance is not what you get from the View.

There's probably plenty of interesting and thoughtful things to be said about the social construction of race throughout history and across the globe, including how race was conceived in the Holocaust and how race and culture and religion are both distinct and interwoven characteristics and so on.

Nothing like this is ever going to happen on The View, which is a program were 5 women yell over eachother for an hour, competing to say the most inflammatory, attention catching thing possible.
