And I expect that Trump got re-elected, then Trump would make the 'Q Anon Shaman' his press secretary because according to Trump, those poor January 6 criminals have been treated so very unfairly.

And Alex Jones would be secretary of State.

My first wife was Swiss and the kids all could have applied for dual citizenship once, but apparently they had to do it before they were 30, and it's too late now. Tough luck. I think I'd have gone for it just to be able to cough up another passport. Cutrate closet Bourne.

My current wife is Cuban, and has the wrong kind of dual citizenship, in that, as a US citizen born in Cuba, if she ever went back to Cuba her US citizenship would be denied. Yikes. Frying pan, meet fire.

Swiss dual citizenship would be the best to have. I'm surprised your kids didn't apply. All my ancestors have been in this country since colonial times except for one set of great-grandparents from Germany. I looked into German dual citizenship but didn't meet the qualifications.

Unfortunately my family has been in the United States since before the Revolution my Irish ancestors were privateers, my English were Farmers, my GGerman ancestors were Hession deserters, my native American Ancestors come from marriage between the English and the Irish with Cherokee from North Carolina. My Recent Family was half Quaker Republican, Half Southern Baptist Confederate, you would think I would be the Perfect Trump supporter, Unfortunately I was born with a few brain cells, and I just can't be a Zombie.

Sounds like my family background. I've got Creek, Quaker, German, Irish, Danish, French Huguenots, Confederates and Yankees, Patriots and Loyalists.

My Irish Family the ones that give me my last name were Knights from the Isle of man, then they became Privateers for Queen Elizabeth, in the Caribbean, I tell people that my heritage means I can defend a Lady's Honor, while stealing her Jewelry at the same time. My German ancestors name means those that held the pagan Temple. It was also a royal title my mother has a family Chrest as does my father's family. I am the desendant of the rough out cast of European Noblity the ones they don't want to claim.

WELL played. Very well played.

Ummm, ...

Are you sure that is right?

After all, the Republican party is bringing down its own membership thanks to the numerous Trump lackeys.

Are you sure that is right?

https://news.gallup.com/poll/388781/political-party-preferences-shifted-greatly-during-2021.aspx

"On average, Americans' political party preferences in 2021 looked similar to prior years, with slightly more U.S. adults identifying as Democrats or leaning Democratic (46%) than identified as Republicans or leaned Republican (43%).

However, the general stability for the full-year average obscures a dramatic shift over the course of 2021, from a nine-percentage-point Democratic advantage in the first quarter to a rare five-point Republican edge in the fourth quarter."

Membership != intended voting intention.

AIUI the majority of independents tend to vote Republican.

Membership != intended voting intention.

Sure. But the direction and the size of that shift is still bad news for Democrats. Not necessarily doom, and November is still a long ways off. But this idea that Trump has doomed the Republican party (as Crossbow and Chainsaw seem to think) isn't backed up by evidence. As of now, the signs for 2022 aren't in the Dem's favor.

G.O.P. Declares Jan. 6 Attack ‘Legitimate Political Discourse’
The Republican National Committee voted to censure Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger for participating in the inquiry into the deadly riot at the Capitol.

The Republican Party on Friday officially declared the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol and events that led to it “legitimate political discourse,” formally rebuking two lawmakers in the party who have been most outspoken in condemning the deadly riot and the role of Donald J. Trump in spreading the election lies that fueled it.

The Republican National Committee’s overwhelming voice vote to censure Representatives Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois at its winter meeting in Salt Lake City culminated more than a year of vacillation, which started with party leaders condemning the Capitol attack and Mr. Trump’s conduct, then shifted to downplaying and denying it.

On Friday, the party went further in a resolution slamming Ms. Cheney and Mr. Kinzinger for taking part in the House investigation of the assault, saying they were participating in “persecution of ordinary citizens engaged in legitimate political discourse.”

Senator Mitt Romney, Republican of Utah, wrote on Twitter, “Shame falls on a party that would censure persons of conscience, who seek truth in the face of vitriol. Honor attaches to Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger for seeking truth even when doing so comes at great personal cost.” He did not mention that the party chairwoman who presided over the meeting and orchestrated the censure resolution, Ronna McDaniel, is his niece.

The censure resolution declares that the party “shall immediately cease any and all support of” both lawmakers “as members of the Republican Party for their behavior which has been destructive to the institution of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Republican Party and our republic, and is inconsistent with the position of the Conference.”
