Sounds like a violation of the Logan Act.

Who's paying this guy? The Serbians?

Did you catch this from Melania a bit farther down?

This #VeteransDay, we pause to recognize the selfless men & women who have fearlessly protected our Nation’s freedoms. They bravely answered the call to serve & have earned the respect that comes with defending our great flag.

You mean like your husband? :footinmou

Corrected translation.

What is it about all these flags anyway? They're on all these pickups, tattered and torn, which is not how they are supposed to be displayed. When they get to this condition, they are to be disposed of by the American Legion, where they will be destroyed by fire. I don't understand this fetish; I see flags in front of establishments, two, three, ten at a time . . . the more flags, the more patriotic, or just patronizing and pandering?

I often wonder about the tattered flags on the trucks, which are often coupled with "Dont Tread on Me" snake flags, or Trump flags. They used to be accompanied by Confederate flags, but that's gone a bit out of fashion. I think the tattered flag has become a symbol, perhaps to prove that this is not a one-time event, with more than a hint of self-pitying whine, a lost-cause implication of beleaguerment. The tattered flag of persecuted rebellion recalls the romantic paintings of ragged bleeding fife and drummers, bold citoyens at the barricades.

Why, it's almost as if those people were....oh, what's a good term for it...let me think...virtue signalling? Nah, only libs do that!

Agreed. Trumpers are obsessed with showing what great 'patriots' they are. They refer to each other as patriots and address others a "Patriot". When I get an email from a Trumper-related organization (ALWAYS asking for money), they address me as "Patriot" as if it's my name. It's gotten to the point they've become caricatures of themselves.

I think the number of flags they display (except for July 4 or Memorial Day) is inversely proportional to their IQ.

My late father in law, Cuban for half of his life, American citizen by choice for the other half, when he saw such displays just remarked "they're more American than anybody else," which worked pretty well in context.

Trump defending the threat to Pence:

Jonathan Karl: "Were you worried about him during that siege? Were you worried about his safety?"

Trump: "No, I thought he was well-protected, and I had heard that he was in good shape. No. Because I had heard he was in very good shape. But, but, no, I think — "

Its as if he thinks being in good shape helps if you get hung. What a moron.

I heard that clip on NPR this morning. What an absolute chunk of flaming turd he is! He would have been overjoyed if Pence had been lynched! Hanging is too good for Trump. A dark dank dungeon and a diet of weevil-infested hardtack and salt water should be his lot!

I think the number of flags shown by republicans is also inversely proportional to how much of a patriot they actually are.

Like they are compensating for something.
