The news keeps calling this incident an insurrection, sedition or treason.

I could not any source that says a single person was charged with insurrection, sedition or treason.

The protesters/rioters were wrong to enter the capitol but the only person killed was un unarmed woman who was shot. It seems that the insurrection, sedition and treason are the narrative being played out in the news, but where the the charges if this is true?

some Oath Keepers are being investigated for Seditious Conspiracy.

There was another person killed besides the Babbit ****. She was part of the enemy force and the other stupid ass Trumptrash trampled her to death. Too bad it didn't happen to more of them. I understand that two others of the scum died of heart attacks.

There was, sadly one American KIA too, the Capitol Police officer.

You mean the woman who had a "don't tread on me" poster?

I really wish that some of the rioters were charged with felony murder.

People have been charged with that with less cause.

Maybe I just live a sheltered life.;) Before Trump I didn't know anyone that hated China.

They Blame China for the Loss of the Mom and pop Rural Stores, and the depression in small towns that was caused by that loss.

When I was growing up we often saw sand and sandal epic movies set in the world of Islam with brave Muslim Princes facing off against nefarious enemies. Islam and its culture and its traditions was not seen as a threat in those days. Now if you see anyone of Muslim faith on video, chances are they will be terrorists. Did the West help create this changed world view by its political and economic actions in the Muslim world? I think it played a big part. China's turn now?

The idea of the 'Yellow Peril' is not new, it started in the 19th century.

In the late 19th century, the Russian sociologist Jacques Novikow coined the term in the essay "Le Péril Jaune" ("The Yellow Peril", 1897), which Kaiser Wilhelm II (r. 1888–1918) used to encourage the European empires to invade, conquer, and colonize China.[5] To that end, using the Yellow Peril ideology, the Kaiser portrayed the Japanese and the Asian victory against the Russians in the Russo-Japanese War (1904–1905) as an Asian racial threat to white Western Europe, and also exposes China and Japan as in alliance to conquer, subjugate, and enslave the Western world.

Are you really unaware that words can have meanings not tied to a legal definition?

Look at how few confederates faced those charges. Those charges don't get charged very often in this country.

I'd like to hope the reluctance to throw those charges stems from not wanting to go down the slippery slope of jailing your political opponents

They stormed the Capitol Building and attacked the process of American Democracy. What would you call it?

Even if they thought Trump wanted them to do it, and even if Trump was in fact batcrap insane enough to want them to do it, it was an insurrection. It was an attempted coup. The intention was to stop Pence from legally certifying Biden as POTUS.

I think Trump should be charged and jailed for it, but sadly that's unlikely to happen in America.

That's naive. The FBI is quite willing to jail their political opponents. They aren't throwing insurrection charges against anyone because the charges would never stick.

Possibly. What do you think was the reasoning behind charging so few Confederates?

A law enforcement arm has political opponents? I thought the term was largely confined to the opponents of politicians or political apparatus. If we are to sweepingly include non political actors as among those who would have political opponents, then the term has lost all meaning. For then every individual has political opponents, and motives for opposition can be made to spiral down to that ultimate bottom for which further explanation never need apply.

Why would you think HRC is an opponent? She is an ally. That's why they willingly ran with her disinformation campaign, even though they knew it was bull ****.

Nope.
The FBI leans very heavy towards Republican.
They were leaking lies about the email server to the point that Comey needed to make some very ham-fisted damage control.

Well well.

EXCLUSIVE: Jan. 6 Protest Organizers Say They Participated in ‘Dozens’ of Planning Meetings With Members of Congress and White House Staff (rollingstone.com)
Two sources are communicating with House investigators and detailed a stunning series of allegations to Rolling Stone, including a promise of a “blanket pardon” from the Oval Office
“I remember Marjorie Taylor Greene specifically,” the organizer says. “I remember talking to probably close to a dozen other members at one point or another or their staffs.”
Along with Greene, the conspiratorial pro-Trump Republican from Georgia who took office earlier this year, the pair both say the members who participated in these conversations or had top staffers join in included Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.), Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas).
