Cont: The behaviour of US police officers - part 2

So much for blue lives mattering.

Mass firing anti-vax cops is a rare opportunity for these cities to purge the most brain-poisoned, radicalized cops in any given department. Forcing the issue would cause the most deranged, least trustworthy cops to self-identify themselves and be removed.

Cities should jump on this chance to clean house.

Houston cops trying to cover up their responsibility in a car crash that resulted in a man having to be cut out of his destroyed SUV and helicopter lifted to an emergency room.

Fortunately, video surveillance from a nearby store shows the deputy running a red light at high speed. The police are stonewalling requests for information.

A private chauffeur who had to be cut out of his vehicle and flown to the hospital by helicopter ambulance has filed a lawsuit against Harris County and the deputy constable who caused the crash, accusing them of covering up the accident.

According to the lawsuit filed by Emmerick "E.J." Jacob, the deputy's reckless actions and excessive speed are to blame for the collision, which was so forceful that it caused Mr. Jacob's Cadillac Escalade SUV to roll over and left him with a punctured lung.

The Harris County Constable's office is refusing to release dashcam video and other relevant evidence, but video Mr. Jacob's lawyers obtained from a nearby gas station clearly shows Precinct 4 Deputy Ronald Rainey sped through a red light. The constable's office, which led the investigation into the accident, has gone to the Texas Attorney General's office to avoid responding to a public information request Mr. Jacob's attorneys filed.

The deputy blew through the red light at 70mph.

Body-cam footage shows police shoot a ‘playful’ puppy: ‘He was curious and excited to greet this officer’

When a Colorado police officer arrived at an empty lot where Wendy Love and her husband, Jay Hamm, had parked their truck to let their three dogs stretch and drink water in June 2019, the law enforcement agent did not announce himself, a new lawsuit alleges.

Without warning, the officer pulled out his gun and pointed it at one of the dogs, video shows. The officer yelled for the couple to call him back. They did, and the dog complied.

But Herkimer, the couple’s 14-month-old puppy, jumped out of the truck and began running toward the officer. Seconds later, Officer Matthew Grashorn fired two shots at the puppy. Herkimer fell to the ground instantly as Love came to his aid, video shows.

There's a link to a bodycam showing the shooting, there was nothing to indicate the dog was aggressive. The dog was running up to the stranger, not barking and happily wagging its tail.

Is there any group of people more pathologically terrified of the world than the police?

Nice to know the practice of denying medical aid to people they shoot also applies to animals.

Despite the couple’s pleas, Herkimer was not taken to the vet until Grashorn’s supervisor arrived at the scene about eight minutes later, according to court records.

This incident shows the cops playing the classics. Overreact to a minor provocation and use excessive force, deny timely medical care, blame the victims for making them be violent thugs, file trumped up charges, and clear themselves of all accountability until a lawsuit is filed.

The department investigated themselves and absolved themselves of any wrongdoing. They filed charges of "dangerous dog" against the couple, which were later dismissed.

This is the same department that was recently in the news for beating a 73 year old woman suffering from dementia and then having a big laugh while watching bodycam footage of the pigs dislocating and breaking her shoulder.

They are not genre-savvy. I swear, shooting pets is going to turn people against a police force faster than shooting relatives.

I found myself wondering why this bothers me more than the casual execution of citizens.

Ex-Philly cop Joseph Bologna will face assault charges after all, a judge ruled
The fired commander was captured on video striking a Temple student with a baton during last spring's George Floyd protests. On Tuesday, a judge reinstated some of the charges against him.

https://www.inquirer.com/news/philly-police-joseph-bologna-assault-protests-20210831.html

The system is pulling out all the stops to prevent criminal accountability for a cop that was video recorded committing an aggravated assault on an unarmed protestor, but some of the lesser charges have been reinstated.

Black man acquitted of attempted murder charges after opening fire on police because their conduct was so egregiously violent that he was able to make a successful self-defense claim. In the immediate aftermath of the Floyd murder, a SWAT team was riding around in an unmarked van, indiscriminately firing impact munitions at anyone on the street.

Not knowing who the men were and thinking he was taking live fire, Army vet Jaleel Stallings returned fire. He peacefully surrendered once he realized that it was police doing the drive-by shooting.

Stallings said he and his companions were in the parking lot trying to figure out what to do when someone came running down the street yelling, “They’re shooting! They’re shooting!”

“I assumed that they meant somebody’s out here trying to kill people,” Stallings recalled.

Stallings’ friend went to the street and immediately turned away, running, so Stallings turned around to take cover near the back of his pickup as the others headed toward vehicles. Stallings turned to get into his pickup as a white van came into view around the corner of the building bordering the parking lot to the west. He couldn’t see anybody inside the van.

The van’s sliding door was open, and the officers immediately began firing. Officer Cushenbery fired first, hitting Stallings’ torso, saying later in a court hearing that he’d been trained to aim at the chest, legs or buttocks.

Stallings said in an interview he heard a pop and then his chest felt like it was on fire, similar to when he was grazed by a bullet once when he was younger and living in Brooklyn.

“I immediately thought I was being shot at with real bullets and was about to die,” he said. “I was under the impression that I was bleeding out.”

In a shock to no-one, police reports of the incident differ with reality and with footage taken from bodyworn cameras. The cops were rioting in response to the anti-police BLM protests and lying about the violence they were indiscriminately unleashing on the streets, and almost got themselves killed in self defense by a man armed with an AK pistol.

Once Stallings surrendered, lying face down on the pavement, the cops beat him.

He didn’t move for 20 seconds as the officers approached.

“You f***ing piece of ******” Stetson yelled, and began kicking and punching Stallings in the head and neck, according to court documents.

3 cops, 2 paramedics facing criminal charges for the killing of Elijah McClain.

Attorney General Phil Weiser announced a 32-count indictment in the death of Elijah McClain on Wednesday.

The indictment is against Aurora police officers Nathan Woodyard and Randy Roedema, former Aurora police officer Jason Rosenblatt, Aurora Fire Rescue paramedics Jeremy Cooper and Peter Cichuniec for their alleged conduct on the night of Aug. 24, 2019 that resulted in the death of McClain.

Each of the five defendants face one count of manslaughter and one count of criminally negligent homicide.

https://kdvr.com/news/local/colorado-ag-to-make-announcement-wednesday-on-elijah-mcclain-grand-jury-investigation/

McClain's death is widely believed to have been caused by a combination of chokehold restraints and overdosing with Ketamine.

McClain's last words to his killers:

I can't breathe. I have my ID right here. My name is Elijah McClain. That's my house. I was just going home. I'm an introvert. I'm just different. That's all. I'm so sorry. I have no gun. I don't do that stuff. I don't do any fighting. Why are you attacking me? I don't even kill flies! I don't eat meat! But I don't judge people, I don't judge people who do eat meat. Forgive me. All I was trying to do was become better. I will do it. I will do anything. Sacrifice my identity, I'll do it. You all are phenomenal. You are beautiful and I love you. Try to forgive me. I'm a mood Gemini. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Ow, that really hurt! You are all very strong. Teamwork makes the dream work. Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to do that. I just can't breathe correctly.

NYPD cop get a bit irritated and lets his inner authoritarian shine through

NYPD officer Powell and his buddies harassing me at 46th St. station after I took a perfectly legal photo of them not adhering to mask guidelines… he said “what are you gonna do about it” and “you know what’s the problem with you guys… it’s because America is so free”

https://twitter.com/alex_fermin_/status/1431629591202893824

It's a bit refreshing for everyone to be so honest here. The guy filming knows that the complaint processes is pointless, and the cop is open about his total contempt for civil liberty. It's nice to cut through all the BS every now and then.

SHERIFF'S DEPUTY ARRESTED: Antonio Galindo, an LA County sheriff's deputy who had coached girls' softball teams, faces charges of sexually molesting a 16-year-old Rancho Cucamonga girl.

Fun coincidence, this rapist cop is also the member of a LASD deputy street gang, the 3000 boys

Antonio Galindo was identified as an associate of the 3000 Boys

Annual losses to asset forfeiture exceeded annual losses to burglary years ago.

It is absolute insanity that police can confiscate private property without any involvement of a court. Even more insane is the reverse burden of proof required to get the stuff back.

John Oliver had this segment about it back in October 2014

Nothing to see here, just a police department purging documents en masse immediately after a violent crackdown on anti-police protestors.

Minnesota State Patrol officers conducted a mass purge of e-mails and text messages immediately after their response to riots last summer, leaving holes in their paper trail as the courts and other investigators attempt to reconstruct whether law enforcement used improper force in the chaos following George Floyd's murder.

In a recent court hearing in a lawsuit alleging the State Patrol targeted journalists during the unrest, State Patrol Maj. Joseph Dwyer said he and a "vast majority of the agency" deleted the communiqués after the riots, according to a transcript published to the federal court docket Friday night.

This file destruction "makes it nearly impossible to track the State Patrol's behavior, apparently by design," said attorneys for Minnesota's chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, which is suing the State Patrol and Minneapolis police on behalf of journalists who say they were assaulted by law enforcement while covering the protests and riots.

*Robert Kennedy and Ken O'Donnell arrive at gate to the Soviet Embassy for one last chance at a diplomatic solution to the Cuban Missile Crisis.*
Ken O'Donnell: "Look"
*Robert Kennedy looks up. Thick black smoke is pouring out of the chimneys at the Soviet embassy in Washington*
*After a moment* Kennedy: "They're burning their documents."
O'Donnell: "They think we're going to war."

Today USA cops are much better kitted out than Soviet era troops. After all it’s a war out there on the streets!

Portland city officials may need to backtrack on an order issued last week that all employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or risk losing their jobs.

Officials said they’re considering tweaking the rule to exempt one bureau: the city’s police force.

The city attorney’s office advised city staff on Tuesday that the order requiring Portland’s police force to be vaccinated was now legally dubious due to new guidance from the Oregon Health Authority.

https://www.opb.org/article/2021/09/07/portland-vaccine-mandate-police-bureau-exemption-city-officials/

Not even pretending that the civil government has any control over these right wing freaks in the PD anymore. Kinda refreshing honesty, in an extremely grim way.

Oh look, more covid-reactionaries that are cops

FBI opens criminal probe into 3 troopers over fake Covid-19 vaccination cards

Three Vermont State Police troopers out of the Shaftsbury barracks have resigned and a criminal probe is underway to determine whether they may have violated federal law by making fake Covid-19 vaccination cards.

The matter has been referred to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont, as well as the FBI, which is investigating, according to a statement released by the Vermont State Police Tuesday afternoon in response to questions raised by VTDigger.

NYPD official social media account posts flyer encouraging people to prevent bike theft by locking up their bikes to, among other things, street sign posts.

9 days later on the same account, they post a picture of a police van full of bikes they have cut free from sign posts, claiming that locking up to street signs is illegal (a dubious claim in itself)
