Tell me, Sol88, is that a large value or a small value compared to its mass?

You can't even figure out the difference between plural and possessive forms of nouns, and you expect people to listen to your opinions on complex physics?

And no, black holes are rather obviously not plasmoids.

It matters not, it's charged!

Further, look at what charge separation can do!

When you find yourself in a hole Ziggurat, stop digging!

Pssssst, it's scalable over many orders of magnitude!

and now for a laugh, ay ziggurat!

The leading theory for what a corona is starts with gas sliding into the black hole where it superheats to millions of degrees. At that temperature, electrons separate from atoms, creating a magnetized plasma. Caught up in the powerful spin of the black hole, the magnetic field arcs so high above the black hole, and twirls about itself so much, that it eventually breaks altogether—a situation so reminiscent of what happens around our own Sun that it borrowed the name "corona."

"This magnetic field getting tied up and then snapping close to the black hole heats everything around it and produces these high energy electrons that then go on to produce the X-rays," said Wilkins.

First detection of light from behind a black hole

Hint - An electric field (Ambipolar) is a little more efficient than snapping magnetic fields at accelerating charged particles!

Anyhoo, good luck Ziggurat. :D

Sol88 is mindlessly parroting the EU insane delusion that black holes are plasmoids

Sol88 is mindlessly parroting the electric universe's insane delusion that black holes are plasmoids.
This is a plasmoid. They are stable configurations of plasma and magnetic fields. Plasma emits light. Plasma is a gas. Plasma in space is an extremely thin gas. For example the average density of the Solar Wind is 4.0 atoms per cubic centimeter.
This is a black hole. Black holes do not emit any light. Black holes have an average density of two quadrillion grams per cubic cm :eye-poppi!

[/LIST]
Sol88 believes in a delusion because black holes are black!
It is an insane delusion because
  • Black holes have an average density that is greater than solid neutron stars.
  • We have measured gravitational waves from colliding black holes.
  • We have images of light being bent by an event horizon which are unique to black holes.
  • The best scientific explanation of quasars and active galactic nuclei is the the activity of accretion disks around supermassive black holes.
  • First detection of light from behind a black hole is about an effect that only happens for black holes :eye-poppi!
"The reason we can see that is because that black hole is warping space, bending light and twisting magnetic fields around itself," Wilkins explained.
Then there is Sol88's deluded citation of a paper on the possible charge of a supermassive black hole when plasma is normally neutral. Neutral gas being partially ionized does not make elections or protons magically vanish. The plasmoids we have detected in space are neutral over the scale of the Debye length (10 meters for the solar wind).

More stupidity - the amount of charge does matter

It matters not, it's charged!...!
Sol88 is mindlessly parroting the electric universe's insane delusion that black holes are plasmoids.
The thousands of lies, delusions, insults, etc. since 6 July 2009 (over 12 years now!) from Sol88 about his deluded cult's electric comet and electric Sun dogma. and now his deluded cult's electric universe dogma in this thread.

Sol88's usual "I write X and magic happens" delusion (X = "charge separation" this time). The stupidity of linking to a Sergey Lebedev - The Z-Pinch and Making Miniature Astrophysical Jets in the Laboratory video with a descriptions of
What happens when you pass a million amperes of electrical current through a bundle of wires? You get something called a Z-pinch. The Z-pinch is the oldest subject in plasma physics. It can replicate the extreme conditions found in stars, as well as intense x-rays bursts. By playing with the geometry of the Z-pinch, researchers are able to make miniature versions of phenomena observed in space, such as astrophysical jets, which are the largest single objects in the universe. Professor Sergey Lebedev from Imperial College London explains how. Watch the complete seminars at: http://mipse.umich.edu/about/seminars...
No charge separation mentioned! The video is about laboratory experiments that run electric currents in the Z direction thorough small metal objects (wires). This produces a magnetic field like the one that drives astrophysical jets in models. That is a way to investigate physically what this magnetic field does to plasma.
Only Sol88 and his deluded cult would believe that there are wires in space with magic electric currents passing through then to produce z-pinches!

Sol88 writes delusions about ambipolar electric fields in plasma

Sol88 writes delusions about ambipolar electric fields in plasma.
Electric fields are as equally "efficient" as changing magnetic fields in accelerating charged particles. Ambipolar electric fields are internal to plasma caused by the different mobility of electrons and ions inside the plasma. First detection of light from behind a black hole is what happened to light outside of a black hole or outside of Sol88's plasmoid delusion.
A deluded citation from Sol88. First detection of light from behind a black hole is about an effect that only happens for black holes :eye-poppi!

The strange discovery, detailed in a paper published July 28 in Nature, is the first direct observation of light from behind a black hole—a scenario that was predicted by Einstein's theory of general relativity but never confirmed, until now.

Wires in space you say?

I believe you call them force free field aligned currents/Birekland currents.

Although, I kinda like "space wires"

Ignorant gibberish on "force free field aligned currents/Birekland curren

As usual Sol88 just adds to his delusions and lies.
I wrote that Sol88 lied by citing a video not about his "I write charge separation and it does magic" delusions. I wrote that only Sol88 and and his deluded cult would think there are wires in space (as in the video's lab experiment).

Ignorant gibberish on "force free field aligned currents/Birekland currents" from Sol88. The laboratory experiment has real "wires" (one is held up and looks like a thumb-sized meatal cotton spool). It is deluded to think there are any of these wires in space either physically or from his cult's delusions about force free field aligned currents or Birkeland currents. As the video explains, z-pinches come from current flowing in the z-direction, "very similar to lightning". A straight forward flow of charge from point A to point B. "That current creates magnetic field" around the z-axis. Force free field aligned currents or Birkeland currents are aligned to an existing magnetic field. Birkeland currents are aligned to the Earth's magnetic field.

Sol88 is mindlessly parroting his deluded Thunderbolts cult craziness about Birkeland currents, They have the delusions that Birkeland currents exist wherever they imagine them to be and do whatever they want them to do. The reality is that we have only detected Birkeland currents around Earth and had to put a spaceship inside them to do so ! The reality is that Birkeland currents are good at creating pretty lights (aurora) and that is about it.

Perfect

Seems we need more "spaceships" then ay!

With a corrected exponent:
Uh, yeah, what Ziggurat said.

...the current upper observational limit on the charge of Sgr A* is ≲3×108C.
That's Hotblack's monitor channel.
OMFSM!!! That much charge would sustain an entire 5 days of lightning strikes here on earth!!!

And we know what those strikes do to earth. Just imagine what five earth days' worth of lightning would do to the supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy!!!

It matters not, it's charged!

It doesn't matter what the charge is?

Wow, that's a galaxy brain take.

Of course it matters what the charge is. Just like it matters what the mass is. I can't say something is a black hole just because it's got mass. You would recognize that as patently absurd. If a charge is small, it will produce small fields and small effects. If a charge is large, it will have large fields and large effects. The size of the charge rather obviously matters.

When you find yourself in a hole Ziggurat, stop digging!

... he said, as he dug his own hole deeper.

Scalable.

It's a whole new ball game now!

The ELECTRIC UNIVERSE!

On the charge of the Galactic centre black hole

:D

Anyhoo, soon as they stop divinding by zero, they'll come to the conclusion "black holes" are indeed "plasma-magnetic entity's"

Then you'll be able to link to where somebody has explained the orbit of material around them. Including charge neutral stars, eh? And how those stars exhibit precession. As predicted from a massive central object. Or the gravitational redshift of one of those stars at pericentre (S-02, iirc). You need a massive object to do that. Plasmoid woo won't do it. It will not cause a star to orbit at a small fraction of the speed of light around it on an hyperbolic orbit. If you think it can, then show the maths.

Stars should actually not be completely neutral, but should have a charge. And we can even estimate the charge on stars.

But of course, EU fans never actually run the numbers. Their ideas never work out when you do.

Yes. I think Neslusan came up with 77 Coulombs. I'm not convinced that is still accepted. More recent exospheric models basically have it as zero. Either way, it is completely insignificant. And the maths isn't rocket science, as an old post of yours to BeAChooser showed. Ted Bunn had long since come to a similar conclusion in a newsgroup post, back in the day. It is on Ned Wright's site*.

The abstract of On the global electrostatic charge of stars by L. Neslušan (2001) is revealing about the ignorance of the Thunderbolts cult.
As was discovered in the nineteen-twenties, a significant electric field exists in the solar corona as well as in the solar interior. This field is a consequence of the tendency of light electrons to segregate from heavier protons in the solar gravitational field. Since the principle is valid for a plasma in every star, the result can be generalized. The presented paper is intended to rehighlight this significant physical property of stars.
It is almost a century old astronomy that the Sun has an electric field in the solar corona (implying only inside). The cult ignore this real electric field and make up one extending several AU outside of the corona strong enough to tear rock into gas.

In Sol88’s world, anything that mentions electricity is a confirmation of EU. You can’t beat that!

So much for magnetic forces. How about electrostatic forces? Well,
as a conservative upper limit, let's say that the net charge on the
Sun is at most 10^{10} esu. If the charge were this large, then
electrostatic forces due to the Sun would be the dominant effect
propelling (or retarding, depending on the signs of the charges) the
solar wind at the Earth's distance. If this were the case, it would
be easily observable, so this is a very robust upper limit. A real
astronomer or solar physicist could probably come up with a limit that
was much better than this.

Pith ball electrostatics!

Now i can see why you are confused.

See HERE

Completely ignored space charge effects... say no more.

Simple question steenkh, can charge separation happen in space plasma/s?

;)

I hope not to hear crickets from you.

chime in if you like ziggurat, jd116, RecoveringYuppy...
