I am just saying again and again I can get why peoplr might be hesitant given the rush. Not acually sure why this is such a hard concept to grasptbh.

And I'm telling you the thing wasn't rushed clinically, and that there is no reason to be hesitant except from the perspective of conspiracy theories. Millions have already been vaccinated and it's been as safe as any other vaccine.

.... And I can claim with absolute certainty, like anybody who looked at the official data, that there is no killer virus around that justifies in any way, shape or form the "restrictions" to the basic rights we thought our "Western" society is build upon. Cumulating in some fascist fantasies that want me closed out from open society because I refuse to take some experimental substance from the pharma cartel.

Better an experimental virus than an experimental vaccine that has been given to many millions with only extremely rare adverse reactions?

You don't like the rules that have been set up to stop or at least slow the virus down? It's a good thing you are outnumbered.

How is it so many people forget that last year at this time hospitals were struggling to find beds and ventilators let alone enough staff members to take care of the massive number of COVID 19 patients? And the refrigerated trucks to keep the bodies in because there was a backlog at the mortuaries, what was that about?

It must be comforting to rage against the machine instead of the pandemic. Or something because I don't get it.

All part of the plandemic, I'm sure!

It must be comforting to rage against the machine instead of the pandemic. Or something because I don't get it.

For some reason most humans seem more comfortable blaming intelligent forces than natural ones. So when something happens that's out of our control they look for someone to blame, usually the government or the Jews.

This. The new strain is more transmittable,NOT any more deadlier.

AND,herd immunity is not binary. The more people that get it, with or without knowing it, or vaxxed, the slower the spread and fewer mutations.

How does the current death toll compare to flu, 2018?

The curve is flat. Far as I am concerned, it's over.

c) It doesn't matter, to me or to science.
Did you mean flu of 1918? Or the flu from a couple years ago?

COVID-19: In the US is well over 600,000 now. I don't think any flu year has reached 100,000 since the 1918 pandemic. We don't have a good count but I believe more people died of the 1918 flu than died in both world wars combined.

As for the delta variant not being more deadly, the more it spreads the more likely a deadlier mutant will emerge. It's random mutation acted upon by natural selection pressures. And a higher viral load is being selected, obviously.

One thing that makes the delta mutant more contagious is viral replication is more efficient. A higher viral load is not going to be neutral in terms of causing more deadly cases.

Folks - we have been keeping a tight rein on the threads regarding discussion of the science and conspiracy theories regarding the Covid pandemic. This thread was fine outside that as it was about a social issue not directly related to the other discussions. However, if you want to discuss the science or conspiracy theories regarding the Covid pandemic including the vaccine take it to the appropriate threads in either the "Science...." or "Conspiracy Theories" sections.

Keep this thread to the social question.

I would add "Stupid" into the equation, but yes, there is no defense for not being vaccinated if vaccination is available.

Yup. I work with an immunocompromised HVAC contractor who cannot be vaccinated. He is still unwillingly in cold fear of COVID. He has a right to life, as I see it. Getting vaccinated and continuing to wear the stupid ******* masks and observe distancing protocols does not seem that big an inconvenience compared to say, being on a ventilator or dying. It's not just about freedom of choice or whatever. You can kill others.

Not being stressed in this column that it's no longer about kust the Covid 19 vaccine, but all vaccines are coming under attack.

Yes, Plandemic, I believed this from when the covid switch was turned on in early March 2020, I had a mask on 2 times when for a dental and MD appt and FOR SURE no jabs in the dark from these unapproved experimental drugs....no way Jose'....

Get govt out of my life on my health issues....they are my responsibility not govt....

I take care of my immune system and it is very strong and I'm 82.

Explain how an immune system that has never been exposed to this bug before protects you. You do know how immune systems works, right?

Indeed. That and like every other virus it morphs and creates different strains which kind of negates it either way.

No. More ignorance.

It doesn't "negate" vaccinations at all.

FFS

I meant it negates the bloke having a great immune system.

Having the vaccine is more logical than not.

Can people stop reading *** into posts.

I have said about 4 times I will have it.

Post the arguments then.

Young, fit people in Sydney are getting and passing on covid at a high rate right now.

TBF that was a bit of a dumb post by me.

Not getting the thing is obviously better than getting it, no matter ow young fit and likely to just get over it.

Plenty of people have underlying conditions they dont know about.

Apologies.

Thanks for clarifying.

Also, I may have mentioned that some of your posts are a tad difficult to interpret. It annoys you when I say that but it annoys you when people misunderstand.
