Would it really be worthwhile to be VP vs Gov of Florida? I'm sure he'd much rather be on his own ticket with Trump's endorsement, but it's not like he can dictate that. Really didn't like the constant, I dunno what word fits but.. 'hope?' that Florida would descend into a Covid death spiral given it's policies and large aging retired population. Think the **** flinging at DeSantis like the 60 Minute piece will increase his popularity if they continue to be off the mark like that though. In another thread posters are debating how people can remain loyal to trump. What kind of people are they? Are they delusional? Are they lacking in intelligence? Lacking in common sense?

Based on this thread, I'd say it's a combination of all three!

I'm reminded of the interview in which pre-POTUS Trump described an accident at one of his properties. An elderly man fell and hit his head on a marble floor, and was seriously injured. Trump related the incident with all the compassion of a fifth grader describing witnessing a frog run over by a bicycle - lot's of emotive language about how disgusting it was, and exasperation for the blood stains on his expensive marble floor - but absolutely zero display of compassion or empathy for this poor individual.

We've seen the same sort of indifference to suffering from Caroline. She dismisses those disabled or killed by COVID-19 as unworthy of her sympathy, ultimately because she declares that they are inferior to her - dismissing them as "fat", or of inferior health to herself. She couldn't give less of a **** about them because she is a narcissist. She rejects the reality of this pandemic because it inconveniences her.

I think that largely explains why someone like her would identity with Trump.
