Merged Trump/DeSantis 2024 /DeSantis for President

So at least 99.99% have not gotten it. I don't have a soul in my life who has had it.

Not surprising. If you spend your life in a basement perched over a keyboard, you're not likely to contract anything

And all those who "got it" probably had weak immune systems and other chronic health issues.

Well, I have several in my life who have contracted Covid (and yes, before you ask, all came back with positive tests). One died, two have ongoing health issues with breathing and chest pains that they will have for the rest of their lives... of those two one, is older, the other is in her 30s - a non-smoking, non-drinking vegetarian, health food & supplement enthusiast with no previous history of serious illness, and no known underlying health conditions.

Stick that up your grape seed extract and drink it!

You can **** right off with your weak immune system ********.

Did you just call Trump weak and sickly?

Well, my stepson, his wife, and his two year old child all got it. Your "probably" is just plain false and dangerously irresponsible. They got it because he works in a prison in a state where people like you were in charge.

For those who might care, they're OK now. The wife has some long haul symptoms, though.

At this stage of the pandemic I think that anyone saying that they don't know someone who has had COVID-19 is either lying or delusional or both. Trolling counts as lying.

Trump/DeSantis 2024

Right now these two have my vote. We'll see how all this unfolds.

Wow! That's a brilliant ticket! Neither Trump nor DeSantis would have occurred to me for a 2024 presidential ticket, but now that you've suggested the possibility of their running together it's hard not to be excited about the possibility. I don't have time to read the article you linked to or to read other people's comments on your OP yet, but it's hard to imagine any reasonable person not being intrigued by that ticket or having positive feelings about it.

After all: top of the ticket, a person who's not a professional politician but has a reputation as a good businessperson as well as being someone who has a good professional understanding of how other people think and feel -- not to mention being a best-selling writer. That's the kind of candidate a lot of people who have grown sick and tired of professional politicians seem to want nowadays. Plus, many Democratic-leaning voters believed that Trump was one of the few sane voices speaking out during the past few years when much of the political world had gone crazy. So Trump is definitely someone worth considering as a candidate.

(Plus, Trump's gender and sexual orientation could be a major plus in attracting women to vote for the ticket, as well as solidifying the gay and lesbian community as solid supporters. Those could be strong selling points in the fight for the nomination.)

But your VP suggestion is even more intriguing. Again it's someone with a good reputation as a business person, but what's a real plus is that DeSantis is someone with years of experience standing up in front of crowds of people -- and he's someone many people enjoy listening to, even if he's not that well-known among the general public yet.

And there are two things about him which I think would make him an especially interesting and fun person to have as the VP candidate.

One is that he's a literal cult member. (And it's the kind of cult people don't mind being associated with, too, not one of those crazy cults like Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, even if a lot of people aren't familiar with DeSantis' group yet. But if he's on the ticket Sugarcult almost certainly will become better known. How cool is that?)

The second thing is his name. A lot of people who don't follow politics closely are very likely going to confuse DeSantis with Florida's senior senator, Marco Rubio (because of the similarity of their first names, apart from the minor difference in how they spell it) and that could be a lot of fun to watch.

But once DeSantis started a campaign tour the confusion would be cleared up pretty quickly, and I think a lot of people would get a kick out of how much better a person DeSantis is to listen to and be around than what they'd first thought when they were confusing him with Rubio. For example, here's a video of DeSantis and his fellow cult members appearing on tv in 2012, when they were well known for their work regarding palm trees and power lines. As you can see, it's nothing like any of Marco Rubio's tv appearances.

A Trump / DeSantis ticket would be a lot of fun and would make for a very interesting election season. Even a good number of conservatives and Republicans might be tempted to vote for Trump / DeSantis if they managed to win the nomination.

But there's the rub. I really don't think they're likely to win the Democratic nomination even if Biden chooses only to serve one term, and they almost certainly couldn't win the Republican nomination since I don't think either Trump or DeSantis is a registered Republican.

Even so, the thought of Mary Trump and Marko DeSantis forming a ticket in 2024 is intriguing. Thank you for bringing it up. I haven't had much time to spend on ISF in recent years but I'm hoping to spend more time here before too much more time zips by and look forward to reading more of your comments and threads in the months ahead.

That's stand-up and clap post Nova Land... especially the "stand-up" bit...

I had no idea Melania and Barron had weak immune systems and had chronic health issues! It's well known that Trump destroys everything he touches but, damn! Can't he spare his own wife and child?

Seems like you don't "have a soul in [your] life period." Looks like those around you have shut you out because of your under-educated ignorant rants and this is your only option for some semblance of human contact.

...And yes, you don't have to say it...I am a nasty ****.

Well, not necessarily. I have friends and family, some of which have underlying conditions. All have been careful and followed the rules and haven't caught it. I have a number of acquaintances (neighbours, shop workers I chat to and so on) and none of them have caught. Maybe all the people I know are sheeple (like me;)) who follow the rules and are careful, but no-one I know has caught it.

Yeah, I know, N=1, but...

I don't buy all the numbers "they" throw out, I know what it's been like living in a locked down state for well over a year.

That’s amusing given that you are from the state where the Governor played shell games with the COVID stats to hide his incompetence.
