The Biden Presidency

Aside from a few blurbs he manages to read teleprompters just fine.

I don't buy this excuse. He doesn't like to read because he doesn't like to learn.

Agreed. Twitter is a written medium after all, and we all know he loved using that before they kicked him off.

Just heard my favorite MD discussing Biden's decline and she came up with this, he's got all the symptoms/signs.

My favorite Smart MD and people calling in about Biden's decline and the MD says he exhibits all signs of Parkinsonian cognitive decline/dementia. Look it up.

Presumaby that's why they're your favourite MD: because they tell you what you want to believe.

Actually Trump's reading from teleprompters is stiff and wooden. And you can presume he's had plenty of time to practice. That's not the same as reading and understanding, say, the national security brief.

Re: Biden administration and immigrant detentions at the border...
That's fine if that's the case, and it's easily believable that it would/could be. The problem is the shortage of signs of what they're doing to improve the situation, or even that they are doing anything.
Well for one we know that they have started to re-unite families that were separated at the border. (See: Politico)

In the long term, the Biden administration has plans to divert money to help improve the court system in some of the latin american countries that are the source of the detainees... which will hopefully keep them from coming ot the U.S. in the first place. (See: NBC News)

Are you building more buildings? Nifty, but tell us about it & maybe show us the progress on construction.
I guess the question is, is building more buildings really the best use of government resources.

There IS significant overcrowding, and it needs to be dealt with. But, the Biden administration inherited a combination of the covid pandemic and questionable policies thanks to the Trump administration. Hopefully the overflows at the detention centers are temporary, and once more sane policies are put into place and the pandemic subsides, there won't be a need for building more detention centers.

Back when Obama was elected, I was listening a lot to OutQ radio on SiriusXM. There was a lot of optimism when he was elected, but after a year, it was waning. They did a call in about how do you grade Obama's first year? In general, the response was severe disappointment that he hadn't done enough for gay people. No one was giving him more than a C, and most were giving him an F.

All because he hadn't solved all the problems in the first year....
TBF, it wasn't that he didn't solve all problems in a year. A lot of people were disappointed he didn't pursue Bush's lying us into war, and he appointed Geithner Sec of the Treasury who was in the financial crisis up to his neck where people lost their homes while people like Geithner came out ahead. Obama was not the Progressive many people thought he was. And yes, overall I still think he did a good job. [/sidetrack]

I suggest you learn more about reading disabilities. There are different kinds. It doesn't mean you can't read the words necessarily. For example, it's most likely he has a comprehension disability. He can read the words but he has difficulty processing and retaining what he has just read.

[QUOTE...]a learning disability in reading comprehension can read aloud with little or no difficulty pronouncing words, but they do not understand or remember what they've read. When reading aloud, their words and phrases are often read with no feeling, change in tone, logical phrasing, rhythm, or pace.[/QUOTE]

Watch Trump read something that is unfamiliar to him. This is exactly what he does. It's what first drew my attention to the likelihood of his having a reading disability. He reads in a monotone and, when he does use inflection, he puts them in inappropriate places, indicating he does not comprehend what he is reading.

There are a few different signs of reading comprehension problems. People with a learning disability in reading comprehension:

Have difficulty understanding the important ideas in reading passages
Have trouble with basic reading skills such as word recognition
May read aloud with little trouble, but do not understand or remember what they've read
Have weak phrasing and fluency
Frequently avoid reading and are frustrated with reading tasks

Note the bolded sentences in regards to reading teleprompters and the reports of Trump requiring all daily briefings to be read to him. Michael Cohen also wrote that Trump never read anything but had things read to him.

Agreed. Twitter is a written medium after all, and we all know he loved using that before they kicked him off.

A person who has a reading comprehension disability is still capable of writing. They are two different, although related, skills. Twitter is practically made for them because it consists of relaying their thoughts in short messages to the written word rather than having to process the written word in the opposite direction. I.E. they are not having to comprehend the written word.

Obama was not the Progressive many people thought he was. And yes, overall I still think he did a good job.

Agreed. He never really presented himself as a Progressive, more of a middle guy. I think many progressives projected their ideals on him. I think getting a second term and realizing the GOP was never going to even consider good governance, he became more of himself, which was a bit more progressive.
I think Biden is trying the same, but after witnessing the last 12 years of the GOP, isn’t going to be as patient

Say what you want about the tax plan, but road infrastructure is socialist!?!?!?!

Road infrastructure IS socialist. It's something done by the government to benefit all of society. Police and fire departments, public water and sewer, and even the military are also socialism. Along with education, of course.
Social Security and Medicare are blatantly socialist. But so are public parks.

And all of those are good things.

There are, I think, people who would happily suggest all those things should be cut. Or, at least Bobbed!

Another thing Trump does is sound 'big' words out. Most fluent readers wouldn't need to do that unless it was some long word in another language.

Darn it! off topic again. Sorry.

THigh-land, YO-semite, diversary, anomous, Minneanapolis, .......

To claim he doesn't have a reading disability flies against the evidence.
