Until you demonstrate some basic understanding of the scientific method and a grasp of what data is, I can't be bothered with your links.

One thing the links provide is just how poor her understanding is so I doubt she's about to become more knowledgeable. What's amazing is how people can filter the nonsense to support their beliefs and become immune to actual data.

Back in 2015 before the nutters started conflating mRNA with gene editing and the rebranding of "Gene Therapy" to exclude mRNA.

mRNA: Fulfilling the Promise of Gene Therapy

https://www.cell.com/molecular-therapy-family/molecular-therapy/comments/S1525-0016(16)30267-2

In vitro–transcribed mRNA (IVT mRNA) is emerging as a new class of drug that has the potential to play a role in gene therapy that once was envisioned for DNA Although first described as a therapeutic in 1992, IVT mRNA's immunogenicity prevented its development for protein replacement therapies. However, this problem was recently solved by the introduction of modified nucleosides into the IVT mRNA.

@marting Not sure it's worth a derail but I still think you don't have the terminology correct yourself. I think the link I cited (from Moderna) used the correct terminology. I believe your link does too but you just misread it.

Moderna distinguishes mRNA and specifically, in their FAQ, states it isn't "Gene Therapy" which they define as inheritable gene editing. But mRNA was considered a type of "Gene Therapy" years earlier as the title and first sentence in the Cell paper from 2015 indicates. However, the nutters were conflating inheritable gene editing forms of gene therapy with mRNA very early in 2020 so they now have their own definition that excludes mRNA from the wider "gene therapy" even while stating it utilizes much of the technology developed for the more traditional applications of GT.

Yes, but mRNA also has other uses that are >not< Gene Therapy.

The semantics don't matter, but the important point is: The vaccine delivers mRNA and not genes. That's important because a measured amount of mRNA should lead to measured amount of the antigen. There is no gene altered in the process and that's important because that is why we think it won't run out of control and not be a measured dose.

Exactly so! And that's why I got jabbed as soon as I was eligible.

Up until a week or so ago, Caroline thought DNA was some kind of preservative. There's not a chance in the world that her understanding of the science involved here has advanced far enough that any explanations of why the claims in the link are wrong will ever get through to her. At this point, the only reasonable response to posts by Caroline would be along the lines of a metaphorical pat on the head and "that's nice, dear. Tend your knitting."

I did NOT, and stop making up lies as you all do.

Here is Dr. Dolores Cahill on Mrna Gene Therapy vaccines.

Caronline, are you now going to admit that your posts up to today have just been part of an elaborate April Fools' joke?

Always check your sources:

https://www.irishexaminer.com/news/arid-40247363.html

University College Dublin’s Students’ Union has called for an investigation into UCD School of Medicine’s Professor Dolores Cahill for “gross misconduct.”

Conor Anderson, President of UCD Students’ Union said Prof Cahill, who chairs the far-right Irish Freedom Party, has propagated a number of “medically-inaccurate conspiracy theories in service of a far-right political agenda throughout the Covid-19 pandemic”. He said she is not an expert in virology, epidemiology, or public health.

I am not going to bother to go back in the archives this late at night, but I'm pretty positive you did say, in an earlier post, that while you were unsure what "deoxyribonucleic acid" is, you didn't like it and presumed it was some kind of preservative. You can deny it but these things are not erased. It is the beginning of a number of instances in which you appear to take pride in your ignorance of the very thing you're expatiating about. Granted, the post in question was a trap, but the person who set it expected you to fall into it, and you did. You can be mad at him for tripping you up, but you can't deny that you tripped.

You keep posting new links of the same old crap, but do not answer for the old ones.

You've posted one from a rabid Russian Orthodox site that is against nearly everything, including the Catholic Church, human rights and democracy. Do you share those beliefs?

You've followed up with one from a rabid right-wing conspiracy site that believes demons are threatening patriots and Democrats are demon-worshipers who abduct children and steal their blood.

So now it's a far right conspiracy nut (anti-European, anti-immigration, anti-tax, anti-vax, and who knows what else) being disciplined for her incompetent meddling in fields outside her competence.

You do yourself no favors here.

It's not a lie, it's there in black & white for anyone to check-:

Just curious: if a tin of sliced peaches included deoxyribonucleic acid in its ingredients list, would you eat the peaches or discard them?

I didn't look up the acid but it's probably a preservative and I'd probably not be buying the peaches, but I'd eat them... Some preservatives are necessary for feeding our billions of population.

So either you're lying or your memory is going...

Either way, you just called turingtest a liar for something that is demonstrably true, an apology would be appropriate.
