Make your point.

Australia had severe lockdowns and its economy has bounced back with only 997 deaths in total.

And Australia has just about 25Million in the total country, and the U.S. has over 300Million, can't work the same.

CA has over 40Million just in our state. You can't get the story right with a general statement.

That's why I quoted "deaths per million".

You obviously also don't understand basic mathematics.

California / Deaths per million = 1,248

Australia / Deaths per million = 35

You can't get the story right with a general statement.
Try reading a basic book on mathematics before shooting yourself in the foot next time.

I wonder how anti-mask sociopaths (and/or dimwits) feel about laws requiring clothing. I mean really, it's not like a nude person is going to get me sick.
I always wonder what those folks do in summer when they come to one of those stores with a sign that says "No shoes No Shirt No Service." I picture them angrily ripping off their shirts and throwing their shoes at the sniveling proprietors, yelling "This is America, God damn it!"

e.t.a. just to economize on posts here, with regard to deaths per million. If it's impossible to compare the US with Australia, how about comparing the US with itself? Compare the deaths per million between South Dakota and Vermont. It's just possible that bartender in Sturgis was full of ****.

Oh please there are exceptions everywhere...Some people are born with no legs or arms.

And some people are born with health issues like heart defects. Some people get leukemia, or cystic fibrosis, or diabetes, or immunological disorders, etcetera, through no fault of their own.

Your dismissal of people who die of COVID19 as deserving of their fate because of irresponsibility on their part is not only appallingly obdurate, but also just plain wrong.

Or walking into a restaurant naked from waist to ankles. [SHUDDER]

Beat me to it.

Caroline, is your aversion to statistical analyses a result of dyscalculia?

Jesus Christ is this post missing the relevant point.

Add anti-math, to your anti-science, and pro-woo bag of BS.

U.S. - 328,000,000 - deaths about 500,000 %0.15

Aus - 25,000,000 - deaths about 1,000 %0.004

On a per capita basis, the U.S. death rate is 37.5 times greater than that of Australia. So if Australia was doing no better per capita than the U.S., they'd have had some 37,500 deaths by now.

Yep. We haven't reached a thousand Covid-19 deaths yet.

To stop Caroline13's next bogus claim, it also isn't about population densities.

The three biggest US cities are

New York City, NY (Population: 8,622,357)
Los Angeles, CA (Population: 4,085,014)
Chicago, IL (Population: 2,670,406)

Meanwhile
Sydney, NSW population is 5.23 million
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydney
Melbourne / Victoria population is 4.936 million
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melbourne

The great majority whose lives may be shortened by hours or days by CV-19 are those with very advanced stages of cancer, heart disease or other terminal illnesses.

Hi Tom. Are you going to link us to where you found this BS?

Was it the Ron Paul Investment news letter?

Gee, it sure is nice living in a totalitarian dystopia, where we don't even have to wear masks and can travel freely because people aren't dying.
