They cannot, of course.

Among the dozen or so MAC addresses I looked at, I didn't find any that were valid.

But that's ok. The IP addresses are suspect, too.

The laziness of this "data" offends me... I could have done a better job of faking it.

See! Proof of fraud! Those machines didn't have valid Mac addresses! And the IP addresses were suspect! I heard they use IP addresses like that in China! Why isn't the media covering this????????

"Didn't even really examine the evidence, just threw it out because some technical thing was wrong."

Numerous things, very rudimentary things. Mistakes so awful they are "not even wrong."

It is totally sensible to assign very low credibility to such a presentation.

The two most apparent and likely explanations are "the content editing and accuracy checking of this organization is remarkably poor" and "this organization is flat out full of ****."

Also, it isnt like the base claims being made have not been thoroughly and repeatedly examined in-depth over the last several months.

This is hardly throwing the baby out with the obviously fake MAC address.

It's almost like they pitched the whole spiel not towards the public but towards one profoundly ignorant orange doofus in Florida. Hoping he will buy a whole bunch of pillows...??

Dominion Voting Systems says ex-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell "evaded service of process for weeks," forcing it to take "extraordinary measures to effect service, including hiring private investigators and pursuing Powell across state lines."

Evading process service, a move famously used by people confident in their ability to win in court /s

Yeah, that dog won't hunt, this is a case that involves "actual malice" because even cursory investigation of the claims that they were making would have alerted them to the claims being false. They either knew it was false, or were willfully ignorant to the truth, and both of those fit the legal definition of "actual malice."

Of all the defendants, news outlets like Fox have the best chance of escaping the case. 1A protections are very broad, and the press are generally very generously protected, even when they have really bad reporting.

Dominion has a very strong case, but even then, it's unclear whether Fox will be found liable. Dominion will probably need some smoking gun evidence that Fox absolutely knew their reporting was untrue and still ran it. People like Powell or PillowGuy are well and truly boned, but I wouldn't be surprised if Fox, OANN, and Newsmax manage to slink away unscathed.

Not that I really condone "intimidation by lawsuit", but I wonder if their intent is to put pressure on FOX et al to be more careful separating themselves from potentially defamatory material. Or at least as a secondary effect if they find that the case doesn't win.

Interesting that Trump supporter Peter Thiel may have laid some of the groundwork for weakening those protections when he paid for Hulk Hogan's litigation against Gawker. The facts are not at all similar and the arguments will be quite different, but the underlying strength of the first amendment defense was certainly weakened.

The democrats can show all the videos they want, Trump never told them to attack the house. They look like racists who accuse a black because some black did a criminal act.

"if you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore". Trump

"We're going to walk down to the Capitol and we're going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women, and we're probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them." - Trump

What are you suggesting "fight like hell" means?

It really is amazing, sometimes, how people can try to convince others to be blind and deaf idiots and ignore overwhelming evidence in favor of a banal triviality.

Either way, the Trump Campaign has been linked to something like $3.5 million in efforts to make things happen. A permit to march to the Capitol Building only happened with Trump's direct intervention.

Thanks for admitting that Democrats correctly look like they're accusing a criminal of doing the criminal actions that the criminal did.

Were you expecting Trump to say "I want you all to go to the Capitol building, break in violently, kill a few people, smear **** on the walls, and then try to find these people and lynch them."

Is that the only speech you would accept as evidence of Trump's guilt?

I think it's pretty clear that any statement like that would simply be an expression of Trump's wishes, rather than an actual command to his followers; it's no more an attempt to incite an insurrection than saying "I wish I could fly" is an attempt to hijack an airliner.

Or, at least, that's the argument I'd expect to hear from about forty-three Republican Senators.

Yep.

You do need to wonder what they would say to a mafia standover guy if he said "Nice shop you got there. It would be a pity if anything happened to it or your family..."

Something like "Oh I'm fine! I have insurance and a gun!"
