Cont: Trump et al continued “2020 election” conspiracy theories

That was my reaction at first too. But Trump's business "success" has always been branding, and almost nothing else. I'll bet someone could spin a campaigner scenario to him in a way that appeals to his narcissism. "These people aren't going to get elected without you, Don."

Great but even better would be. "Don if you get enough Republicans elected to the Senate and House they can vote to depose Biden and make you President!"

The elderly muppet is out of a job.
Lou Dobbs, by far the highest-rated host on the Fox Business Network, has just been canned by the network.

Friday night was his final broadcast, a Fox spokesperson told The Los Angeles Times.

Fox representatives did not immediately respond to CNN Business requests for comment, but a source close to Dobbs confirmed that he has been benched by the network.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Dobbs “remains under contract at Fox News but he will in all likelihood not appear on the company’s networks again.”

Dobbs, a veteran financial news anchor, became known at Fox Business for his sycophantic pro-Trump programs. He was one of the former president's biggest boosters on television, and Trump regularly thanked him in return.

The pro-Trump propaganda bent helped make the daily airing of "Lou Dobbs Tonight" at 5 p.m. ET (it also re-aired at 7 p.m.) the network's most-watched program -- so a sudden cancellation would ordinarily make no sense at all.

But Fox is under enormous legal pressure from a pair of voting technology companies, Smartmatic and Dominion, because Dobbs and other hosts made false claims about the companies while perpetuating Trump's lies about election fraud.

Smartmatic's lawsuit identified multiple instances in which Dobbs' program promoted conspiracy theories about the 2020 election results and said that his behavior was "contrary to his public persona" of being a "provider of factual information" to his viewers.

Not only did Dobbs allow guests to defame Smartmatic, the lawsuit said, but he "took the initiative and contributed additional falsehoods to the narrative."

First of all, bwahahahahahahahaha!! Secondly, bwahahahahahahaha!!

But surely OANN will be more than willing to provide Dobbs with a platform for his bat -****.

I think that's right. What was T****'s favorite presidential job? Those damn rallies. And he had at least a couple that were ostensibly for some other candidate but he spent almost all the time talking about himself. Past is most certainly prologue in this case.

My understanding is that Dobbs still belongs to Fox, but he's benched, so he's not going anywhere for a while.

Lachlan Murdoch has to remove Fox "pro-trump" talking heads, while still maintaining "pro-conservative" talking heads. Simultaneously he can't release anyone who may simply join Newsmax or OANN at a lower fee. It's not going to be easy.

Under Australian law, a TV presenter anticipates financial consideration and an implied ongoing exposure consideration, unless an express term of their contract waives that expectation. This is to stop networks benching presenters to stop them going to competitive networks simply by taking them off air. Lachlan Murdoch would know that law and probably has such a waiver with Dobbs. I think we will soon find out. :)

I skipped the meaningless introductory comments and played it double speed when it got to the claim.

The claim is that there were a whole bunch of illegal voters. For now I will just assume that this is all supported evidence presented later in the video.

If the claim is correct, the appropriate action is to present the evidence to State election officials. If State election officials do not review the evidence or disagree with the evidence, the appropriate action is to take it to court.

For most of these claims, and all that I have seen so far, none were taken to court. There were over 60 lawsuits. I am not aware of any that made these claims.

I have said many times before, the claims of dead people voting and addresses at vacant lots and people living out of state and so on have been brought up after every election for decades. It almost always turns out to be bad data from the complainants because they rely on vague information from obituaries and online address matches and old and inaccurate data that is not as good as private government data.

People with similar names. Out of state addresses that never got updated. And so on and so on. This happens after almost every election. It gets reviewed. And over 99% of the case turn out to be nothing. A perpetual wild goose chase for the elusive massive voter fraud.

This is not something that has no possible resolution other than public outrage. This is what the courts are for. Make your claim and prove it in court.

But they don't want to do that. They don't do that. They don't want to do that.

This is just getting ridiculous.

He's presenting the margin of Trump's loss in Georgia. Then presenting how that loss margin can be covered.

He includes a bunch of groups. Neverminded that those groups probably include a bunch of both Biden and Trump votes. Let's just pretend that they are 100% Biden votes.

OK. That's stupid. But we'll roll with it for now.

Then we get in that group people who failed to re-register in their new county after moving from another county. Umm...that means they are legally registered to vote in the State of Georgia. That could affect whether they legally voted for some district or local election. It does not affect a state-wide election...like for President (electors).

Even if this was proven to be absolutely true, and somehow was 100% Biden votes, it would not affect the election of the Presidential electors at all.

And....now we get to it. If all these states and all these Governors and all these Secretaries of State and all these election boards and all these counties and all these courts and all these members of Congress and all these everything that determine the legitimate election results had not actually determined the real elections results...then we would have the result we want, which must be true because that is what we want.

Therefore, we must take back our country as patriots by rejecting democracy and freedom through force to install a dictator-king who will destroy all opposition voices just as our Founding Fathers so bravely fought for. The only way to democracy is through forced acceptance of the minority. The only way to freedom is through violent control.

All 2020 election conspiracies can be boiled down to: "I cannot understand why someone would like Biden more than Trump".

Now it is...voting processes can have problems. Of course they can. Paper voting. Electronic voting. Beans in jars. All methods have vulnerabilities.

And he's going all in on Dominion. Welcome to Defamation Town.

I said a couple months ago that the thing that would actually bring actual consequences would be Dominion. Smartmatic has got in on that gig.

They don't have the power of criminal charges, but they can make very large civil claims. They have shut down Lou Dobbs.

They are probably just getting started. They can subpoena a bunch of stuff. That can show very bad things for some people, like this pillow head guy. He's likely in for a tough ride.

*snip*

Not even that. If there was wide-spread fraud, anything could result. The assumption that all such fraud would be in Biden's favor is entirely unfounded. After all, the other side are hardly icons of truth and honesty.

I think it's more that they can't comprehend that there will actually be serious consequences. Most have never had negative interactions with law enforcement, and little to no actual court exposure.

When you look at the profile of many of the Capitol insurrectionists you see they are members of the comfortable class, they have gone through life with the world being organised for their convenience. Bad consequences happen to other people.

After Dominion, now Smartmatic. They file a $2.7 billion libel suit against Fox News, Fox hosts, Giuliani and Powell.

ETA: lol

Next up, Mike Lindell.

Was this the type of Kraken Powell thought she was awakening? Defamation law suits to the tune of a couple of billion dollars aimed at her and all her conspiritard buddies? And is this the "any day now, you'll see" thing Bubba was referring to? I suspect not. :)

I'm now waiting on one more multi-billion-dollar suit from Dominion and Smartmatic...addressed to a big orange bloatus in a big pink mansion in Florida. I seem to recall he was the one who was the most frequent, the most strident, and had the widest media coverage with the claims of electronic election fraud. I reckon maybe a $10 billion (plus expenses) restitution should just about the right amount. ;) Not that Donny would ever pay it, nor would his "backers".
