...the Diapered One is the most masculine person to every hold that position.

Indeed, so much more a man than that coward Teddy Roosevelt, who shamefully went on to give his speech after having been shot. How can that compare to shambling down a ramp and all that manly two-handed drinking?

True,

Parler is one. Then Apple and Amazon essentially removed Parler from the internet.

I think they are getting back on now.

The others swayed the vote by censoring voices they dislike for bogus reasons

Each individual company declining to do business with Parler is only making that decision for themselves, not anyone else.

Nobody can be "removed from the internet" by a specific entity. A person leasing server space/bandwidth may no longer have access to that space or bandwidth to host it upon no longer being a client of that hosting service provider.

"Bogus reasons" is just your way of saying "totally valid reasons I disagree with for strategic purposes."

There actually is. The same things that caused problems for Parler. Even moreso now that Amazon, as the hoster, is already getting a bad rap for having knowingly let Parler's crap slide. Haven't looked into that enough to see whether they might face legal action, for that matter.

I'll poke at something in response to that... voter purges. As long as "conservatives" just keep denying large numbers of Democrats their actually constitutional right to vote by wrongfully purging them from the voting rolls (especially when it's clearly done intentionally), I don't think that I'll have much sympathy for the complaints of "conservatives" who get caught up in attempts to purge Russian (and other countries') disinformation agents and bots about how their mangling of the 1st Amendment "rights" are being violated.

They can't set up their own hosting companies?

It's not exactly "can't." It's more that it's notably more annoying, notably less effective at accomplishing their larger goals, and either less profitable or unprofitable, especially compared to hijacking existing infrastructure that's much more generally popular and established... on the more technical side. On the less technical side, the entirely predictable behavior found on Parler - incitation and conspiracy to rape, murder, commit treason, and the like based on rampant falsehoods... well, that's already begging to be cracked down on - hard, especially if the entities involved can be seen to be encouraging such.

As I've said before, let the scumbags accumulate established server farms and incorporate their own hosting company. There are plenty of super wealthy, hard right individuals who can collaborate on such an effort. Let them put their money where their confederate mouths are.

Exposing themselves to litigation is their problem.

Yeah, uh, those voices they dislike were seditious. They fomented the violent rebellion that resulted in an attack on our country. Let's not act like they took down accounts preaching it's okay to put pineapple on pizza or ketchup on hot dogs here. The media companies took action to stop a lethal threat to the country.

The Amazon response to Parler gives a good overview of the "conservative voices" being silenced.

And good riddance to them tbh.

"AWS notified Parler repeatedly that its content violated the parties’ agreement, requested removal, and reviewed Parler’s plan to address the problem, only to determine that Parler was both unwilling and unable to do so.

Despite Parler’s rhetoric, its lawsuit is no more than a meritless claim for breach of contract. But the facts are unequivocal: If there is any breach, it is Parler’s demonstrated failure and inability to identify and remove such content. AWS was well within its rights to suspend Parler immediately for those failures.

Compelling AWS to host content that plans, encourages, and incites violence would be unprecedented."

It's tough to argue against their position.

Let me take a moment to recommend a podcast called “Presidential”. One episode on the life and presidency of each former President. Enjoyable, engaging and educational. Certainly helps put the current administration in context, not to say prior occupants of the White House did not have their flaws. But nothing like this one.

Bill Hemmer on Fox News asked Hogan Gidley, Diaper Don's former deputy press sec if Trump might be feeling a bit emasculated by his getting kicked to the curb and Gidley replied (not making this up) that the Diapered One is the most masculine person to every hold that position.

<*snip*

Well, if that's how he feels, ok. I mean, love is love. Feelings can't be fathomed.

So what is preventing you conservatives from establishing your own conservative commercial social media ventures?

Would that be laziness, incompetence or because you wouldn't have something to whine about?

"Welcome to Parler - please tag @FBI when you livestream any self-incriminating video, it saves all of us time"

See, that’s what we call consequences. Crazy, seditious Mike could have avoided them by sticking to posting his crap anonymously on the Internet like a lot of other idiots. But he didn’t, and now they are going to sue him into oblivion.

Look what Trump has done to us: left or right, we're all rooting for Dominion voting systems.

Well, that's pretty expensive, but ... of course they can.

Hans

Yeah sure but again, it's not like the major players on that side of the fence are short of cash. If they really wanted a format where they and their ilk could spout off to their hearts desire, they could make it happen. The fact they choose not to speaks volumes to me.

Anyways, the right squealing about censorship is just pathetic. I've been on things such as white supremacy and conspiracy sites and the speed in which they shut down and ban dissenting voices is amazing. Glass houses and all that.
