I assumed that you were talking about the TCF Center in Detroit, when random Trump supporters, who were not legally appointed observers, were standing outside the Center, harassing the vote counters, and taking photos and videos through the windows which could endanger voter information. This resulted in the windows being covered, while the legitimate Republican and Democrat observers remained inside to observe the vote counting.
You know, the reality of the situation, instead of the paranoid fantasies and lies promoted on right-wing media.
You don't have to be a 'legally appointed observer' to stand outside the building and watch the vote count through the window. If you're not allowed inside the building because of some pandemic ******** or you've been kicked out after observing irregularities and asking about it, watching through the windows is the only option.
I was told upthread that there are cameras inside these vote count centers recording everything that's going on. They do this to prevent voter fraud, so I'm told. So people taking pictures and video from the outside of the building aren't going to "endanger voter information" to any significant degree.
If people outside the building believe that voter fraud is occurring inside the building, preventing them from observing isn't going to inspire confidence. If they are disrupting the process by yelling and pounding on the windows when they can see inside the building, you deploy security guards outside to keep people a minimum distance away from the windows. Which you would have to do anyway because they're not going to stop being disruptive if they can't see inside the building.
The only reason to block the windows is to prevent people from watching the vote counting process. The only reason you would want to prevent people from watching the vote counting process is because you want to steal the election.
