Trump's Coup d'état.

I think that would be genius on Biden's part.. appoint a comission to investigate both voter fraud and voter supression.
watch how quickly the GOPer in congress would object.

I'm sure that any such commission would have a GOP majority - to ensure the right outcome.

Joe Biden announces that, as President, he will appoint a presidential commission to investigate allegations of vote fraud, and vote suppression. Announce that this is necessary due to unfounded allegations that were made after the last election, and that it is necessary to create confidence that elections really are free and fair in America.

Seems like it might be stepping on the toes of the House Committee on Administration and the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration which already have jurisdiction over federal elections and contested elections. But I see where you are going.

some things become clear:

there is NOTHING AT ALL to be gained by not investigating Trump and the other anti-America Republicans: Biden has done nothing but offer them a clean slate, and they happily defecate on it.
Clearly, the GOP needs the Dems to clean up the mess they made (as usual), this time within their own ranks.
The lesson Republicans have learned from Watergate is that they should have sided with Nixon.
And they are trying to teach that lesson to the rest of us.

I alos got a feeling his behavior in the next couple of weeks is going to hurt him with all but his die hard supporters,
Hasn't that been the consensus, in some parts, since 2015? Why why would it be different now?

Members of Congress elected on the very same ballots to which they plan to object on Jan 6 should refuse to be sworn-in tomorrow, for if Trump’s defeat isn’t legitimate, how can their victories be legitimate?

It would be interesting to have another member respond to their objections by saying something about their own elections being part of it, but I can already see the pretty simple & straightforward answer: the fakery was only done to the Presidential election, with ballots on which the only vote was for President and the rest was blank. That was already part of the story some of the conspiracy theorists were giving us not very long ago anyway, although it's been drowned out by other stuff since then.

I also got a feeling his behavior in the next couple of weeks is going to hurt him with all but his die hard supporters,

The scary part is, that does not appear to be what is happening. trump got 74 million votes in the 2020 election. In local and state races the Republicans seemed to have done pretty well. As NPR put it, "Republicans outperformed the polls up and down the ballot in the 2020 election, to the surprise even of many Republican political operatives and survey researchers."

Ted Cruz says:

“I think everyone needs to calm down. I think we need to tone down the rhetoric. This is already a volatile situation. It's like a tinder box and throwing lit matches into it and so I think the kind of hyperbole we're seeing, the kind of angry language...”

Then stop throwing lit matches into the tinder box, Ted. Sorry you didn’t get to make oral arguments in the Supreme Court like you so desperately wanted, even though those cases would not have overturned the election. But this isn’t about you, Ted.

This election has been the most scrutinized, reviewed, recounted, audited, investigated, litigated, and verified in the history America.

True patriots take the principles of democracy and rule of law and the foundations of the United States of America very seriously and won’t sit silently by while they are treated like playthings by trolls.

Put out the fire, Ted. Do what you know is right. Stand up for your country.

It is truly frightening what Trump sycophancy will make people do, what the fear of Trump and his sycophants will make people do. The damage Trump and his administration have wrought on this nation is incalculable and perhaps irreparable.

Remember when the GOP had values? I mean, I never agreed with those values, but they had them. Now they only worship Trump.
