2020 United States presidential election - Conspiracy theories, alleged fraud, etc

All of the key states Trump was squawking about losing cast their EC votes for Biden without incident ... unless one counts applause as an incident.

I never get tired of Trump losing. He could've lost with dignity the first time, but now we get to truly relish his failure.

The electors are meeting in Carson City at the State Capitol to cast their votes, presumably.

The only thing I see is that someone in Nevada may have done the alternate elector nonsense too.

Someone called the RSBNetwork Tweeted "BREAKING: Nevada GOP electors cast ballot for Donald J Trump declaring him winner of 6 Electoral votes in NV."

Breaking: I AM NAPOLEON!

The Trumpists have appointed their own electors in all the "fraud" states. It is apparently necessary to have an alternative set of electors in order to contest the Electoral College vote when Congress counts the votes.

Heard a news report that when our electors gathered privately prior to casting their votes for Biden, the only outsider allowed among them was a lawyer for Trump. Since he didn't change anyone's mind, I'm guessing he won't be paid.
Paid? More likely he'll be sued! [emoji1]

He could have been a President with dignity too; but neither being in the office nor losing it with decorum, or even just basic decency, was ever in the cards because it wasn't in his nature, and it's not what his most rabid base expected of him. Look at it like this- none of the people who staged or went on The Jerry Springer Show ever had dignity in mind as an ideal- in fact, the exact opposite of dignity was the only standard that mattered. Same with the Trump presidency- we've been graced with a four-year clown show because that was the goal. Who Trump was and who he stood for were always ugly reflections traded back and forth.

That's sadly very true, and underscores that Trump is just a symptom of what's wrong right now in the world. (It's not just the US.)

Someone explain to me what is happening in Nevada ?

As far as I can understand the Republicans are trying to soothe their hurt feelings by holding a little make-believe ceremony in which Trump gets all the votes.

It is rather sweet really.

You do understand that Dominion Voting machines are air-gapped, right? You do understand what "air-gapped" means, right?

Yeah Right on brother!!!

(Matthew quickly does a search to find out what "air-gapped" means. "An air-gapped computer is isolated from unsecured networks" Even Matthew understands that.)

I don't want to bother reading the link. I suppose these idiots are saying that there is a provision in that 1877 law that says if only one set of electors is received from a state, then Congress has to pick that one, so they want to make sure there's a second set of electors from that state, so Congress can pick who they want.

That's so asinine.

I guess they figure that electors from a state means "postmarked in that state".

It is a pity that some of these alternate elector slates might include elected officials, and it is a bigger pity that the presence of their name on those alternate elector slips will not result in them losing the next election. Truly sad.

By horrible misfortune, Dorothy accidentally attends the GOP alternative electoral college vote in Kansas.

Oh Bubba, Trump lost again.
306 - 232.

Biden after Electoral College vote: "The will of the people prevailed"
President-elect Joe Biden, speaking after the Electoral College affirmed his election win, said the "will of the people prevailed" today.

"Once again, in America, the rule of law, our Constitution, and the will of the people prevailed," Biden said. "Our democracy pushed, tested, threatened, proved to be resilient, true and strong."
Biden noted that he and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris received more votes "than any ticket has received in the history of America."

Ovah!!

Do they have good buffets there?
Holy cow, have you ever BEEN to Carson City? I have. The most outstanding exhibit in the State Museum (former US Mint) was a mummified cat someone found when they cut down a tree.
Then again, we went to the museum because it was across the street from the casino the tour took us to. That sort of casino ALWAYS has a buffet. "Good" is a judgement call.
Oh, by the way:
Pretty much the only reason for the existence of the CC mint was that by law, silver miners could take their bullion into the mint and have it minted into dollars. At the time, the actual value of the bullion in a silver dollar was less than a dollar. So mine owners could have their bullion minted and make money on it.

I suspect that, as usual, a lot of gamblers are losing.

Also, in a special political event, a lot of gamblers are losing.

You've got to know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run

If you're gonna play the game, boy
You gotta learn to play it right

So that's a firm No on the buffets. [makes notes...]
