Since the pardon power is specially enumerated in the Constitution, wouldn’t it require an amendment?

I'm going to suppose the idea is that if an executive is going to use their authority to let someone off the hook, that it is better to be done openly than by interfering with the justice process.

Bubba is not here I'm afraid. He might still be dispirited over the Supreme Court's slamming the door in Dear Leader's face. As I imagine I certainly would be if I had been staking my ego on some secret plan magically endowing Trump with a second term despite the election result.

But fear not. His grief is likely transitory and I'm sure he'll be back any minute now to let us know how foolish we are for thinking the Supreme Court denial means anything, and that - once again for the n-teenth time - some new imminent tactic or deadline or methodology will be the real saving throw that puts Dear Leader back on the holy throne.

Bubba's probably pinning his last hope on the likes of Rep. Mo Brooks, who plans to object to the Electoral Vote in Congress tomorrow- links to sources are in my post in the US Politics Thread here:

We have a superior role under the Constitution than the Supreme Court does, than any federal court judge does, than any state court judge does. What we say, goes. That’s the final verdict.
and
In my judgment, if only lawful votes by eligible American citizens were cast, Donald Trump won the Electoral College by a significant margin, and Congress' certification should reflect that. This election was stolen by the socialists engaging in extraordinary voter fraud and election theft measures.

Whoops, yeah, you're right. The EC meets and casts their votes tomorrow, Congress counts them Jan 6, which is when Brooks will toss his little stinkbomb, I guess.

To reject a state's vote requires a majority in both houses. If the House votes to reject the objection and the Senate votes in favor, the objection fails. It's telling that no senators signed onto the House Republicans' amicus brief in the Texas case and politico is reporting that the Republican leadership is quietly telling members to not support challenges in the Senate. At least most Republican senators appreciate the fact that there's no advantage in losing more than once on the 6th of January. Drawing out objections to each swing state, or each state the went for Biden would just be a day long spectacle of defeat after defeat for Republicans.

I got the feeling he had sort of moved on to Trump invoking the Insurrection Act and ordering the military to oversee a new election. I was in Afghanistan for an election the US military, in partnership with the coalition secured. What a **** show.

Time will tell

Well Bubba, you do come across as very very confused. Sometimes you link to Chinese Communist Party State Media as your "evidence" and in the next post you link to the Falun Gong's Epoch Times as your "evidence" even though neither link has anything to do with your claim.

You haven't got a clue who the Falon Gong is. do you?
