Well. They have motivation to continue at least, but I don't know how successful they'll be. Right now it certainly seems like most of the GOP voter base are now radicalized Trump cultists. And I'm not convinced the Lincoln Project made any perceptible difference in the presidential election anyway; 12 million more people voted for Trump this year than in 2016.

Figures I have been hearing are that somewhere between 68% of 78% of Republican voters think there was election fraud that denied Trump victory. The median is 73%, so lets go with that.

The popular vote is 51.3% Biden, 46.9% Trump, so 73% of 46.9% is 34.2%... basically, that has been around the level of Trump's base for his entire presidency.

The numbers you cite seem to support the point Checkmite was making.

I'm not sure if that has anything to do with whether or not his 'base' has increased. Te turnout was better for the election, but that isn't the same, and he didn't seem to be suggesting it was.

Just that the basket is well over half full.

You are establishing that it always has been.

Not only that but many of those states are dependent on the Federal government to function properly.

Money for their Interstates...gone. Money for Medicare and for some Medicaid...gone. Transportation network...majorly disrupted. Money to play all the Federal workers (including the troops on United States military bases)...gone. Money for useless project to employ people and effectively line their pockets...gone.

It's all saber rattling as the states are so interdependent to each other that there is no way they could survive for any length of time. :D

Do these idiots really want a mess like the one in the movie The Second Civil War? Are they that out of touch with reality?! :boggled:

I think Trump might actually believe the election was fraudulent. He might believe it because he would steal the election if he could. He clearly doesn't appear constrained by the will of the people.

Doubt it. His entire career was based on strategies his mentor, Roy Cohn, developed. Hit your opponent with a tidal wave of false accusations, pretend lawsuits and hearings, innuendo and threats. The falsehood of the contrived accusations is a feature, not a bug. Look how well it worked on Ted Cruz:

Donny didn't write one word of that. He would not even understand what most of those terms were, to complain about them in detail. And certainly the spelling and grammar, and length of text, are not his style.

No, this is some White House PR lackey again. In fact, it's SO bizarre that if it were anyone but Trump involved, I would suspect the author is severely trying to take the piss.
