2020 United States presidential election - Conspiracy theories, alleged fraud, etc

One of the hallmarks of conspiracy theories that is on display in this one as well is that the evidence is sitting their plain as day for anyone to see, and yet it is seen by hardly anyone.

Whether we are talking about elected officials, investigative journalists, law enforcement officials, or just interested amateurs including people like ourselves, we look at what happened and we don't see any evidence of wrongdoing. However, we are informed by people on the fringes that it is obvious.

To be fair, the fringes are a little bit bigger this time around. OANN and Newsmax are in there with the fraud stuff, and 69 Pennsylvania legislators can't exactly be called "fringe".

However, in general, the right wing sources see fraud, and the rest of us examine the evidence and we see people counting votes. They can see things we cannot. So it is with all conspiracy theories. Only those who have achieved enlightenment can look at the evidence and realize it for what it truly is.

...and 69 Pennsylvania legislators can't exactly be called "fringe".

Those legislators are differently motivated than the great unwashed. They seek political favor (or fear its loss), nothing more. They'll toe the party line because that's how the system works.

There are some similarities to the Joe McCarthy Era shenanigans. Different set of lies an a different set of fears, but with similarities nonetheless.

So, you don't know that is sounds like. Curious that you would even post it, then.

Thats an easy one.

Imagine circumstances where either you are sufficiently familiar with certain material, or where a reliable source had verified it for you.

A sort of reverse example may be seen in what Okeefe is now exposing, (another big story which MSM is naturally twisting). Recordings of two months' daily meetings of CNN's Zucker and managers deciding what important stories to ignore each day.

How true !

Since guys like us already know that ALL of this below is unverified hogwash, we dont even need to bother ourselves with debunking it. Just ignore it, with chanting and smirks, and backslapping. This gets easier and funner by the minute.

O'Keefe is an alt-right troll. CNN is a news organization that has no obligation to give air time to the weird misinformation that abounds these days. News by definition refers to fact-based reporting and not seditious fantasy stylings.

What do we need to know right now? Rudy is working so hard he's making his own gravy. He's trying to incite state GOP minions to discard the votes of their constituents, which is not clearly legal, and certainly not moral. Who cares about morality, though?

Trump has a point when he states that everyone knew who they were voting for when he was elected: a scumbag lying fraud.

We know that liars lie, cheaters cheat, and if it was this easy to steal an election, Trump would've won.

What pray tell does this have to do with the "sound" of the letter you linked to? You are bouncing from topic to topic without focus or even any cognition of the individual topics themselves.

To paraphrase Dara O'Briain, there's no reason to pull away from a NASA scientist to speak with Barry, who thinks the sky is a carpet painted by god, just for "balance."

Focus??

One of my assignments is to provide y'all with examples of "alleged fraud in the 2020 US presidential election"...its a big job. There are lots of examples in post 1444 which probably will be ignored.

There are no examples of alleged fraud in the post itself. If there are, as you say, lots of examples at the link you provided, great! How about pointing out a few for discussion purposes? It would be best to focus on the very best examples of alleged fraud, since the ones I've come across so far are at best misinformation and at worst bald lies.

If you'd prefer to flit off to another topic, though, without actually pointing out anything, I'll understand.

Are you using me as an excuse to avert your eyes from examples of alleged fraud??

Instead, pretend one of your sources posted it.

I thought y'all are interested in examples of alleged fraud. My mistake I guess.

Its not always about discussion. The video in post 1451 has more facts than I could ever tell you. Dont use me to insulate yourself from seeing them

If there is nothing you can highlight as significant in that Brighteon.com video, why should I believe there is anything there of note?

By the way, I did look at the video. Lots of innuendo, lots of conclusions, and short on evidence. Do you see it that way, too?

So, Bubba has provided a great example of what I was talking about. The evidence is right in plain sight, but only The Enlightened see it for what it truly is.

So, for example, I followed the link above. It's a page where people can submit evidence of voter fraud. It has lists, and sources.

Well, there were so many of them. (Aside: Another characteristic of conspiracy theories. Tons and tons and tons of pieces of evidence. Unless specific refutation of each and every piece is provided, that proves there is a conspiracy. Now, where was I....), so I just picked one. Each item has a user provided title:

ERIC COOMER DOMINION VOTING SHOWING PEOPLE TO change ballots

And then there's a link to the source, which for this one is

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtB3tLaXLJE

If you click on that source, you will see Eric Coomer giving a sales pitch for his vote counter, demonstrating the audit procedure and the way the system flags ballots for review. If the machine does not see a clearly marked ballot, it flags it for review, and then an adjudication group can review it, and decide whether the voter intent is clear. An example is that a person fills in the Biden oval, and writes "Biden" in the "write in line". The judges can mark that as a Biden vote if they agree.

The sales pitch also describes how the software supports auditing operations to ensure accuracy.

So, a guy like me looks at this and says these are good features to have in a voting system to ensure an accurate count. However, whatever conspiracy theorist posted that to the page sees clear evidence of voter fraud. Alas, I am not sufficiently enlightened to see it.

(Oh, and, every system, whether paper, electronic, or putting colored marbles into a box like the Masons do, is subject to fraud. Some are easier than others, but the video is not demonstrating how to perpetrate fraud. It's demonstrating how to catch it.

Anyone who wants to read the ridiculous misinfo/propaganda sites like Newsmax, Gateway Pundit, Epoch Times, Bizpac Review, etc, can do that themselves. If you can't even try to defend their BS, then you are of no use to us.

As has been mentioned, this is a discussion forum. It's also a skeptic's forum, and it's safe to say that we don't believe that Trump won.

Do you actually have anything to say?

Thats an easy one. Imagine circumstances where either you are sufficiently familiar with certain material, or where a reliable source had verified it for you.

Fascinating. So when you linked us to the story about children being kidnapped and sent to Mars, on a one way, 20 year journey, to become sex slaves, you were sufficiently familiar with that material?

Please discuss your skill in being so familiar.

:wink8:

I dont have time for that, what with all the top level planning sessions.

Would that be your top level planning with Sidney Powell, concerning spell checking, formatting and trying to find evidence for her failed court submissions?

That would explain everything.
