Worth noting that is a Trump-supporting blog. In other words, somebody who wants him to succeed is pointing out this latest act in the clown show.
 
Every person who is supporting Trump at this point is supporting an attack on democracy itself. They are not “patriots”, they are not “skeptics”; they are useful idiots at best and quislings at worst.

I don't see how they even rise to the level of useful idiots, myself.

I talk to quite a few of them online and they're just deluded morons. Below average intelligence racist wankers who genuinely believe Biden is a Communist.

You know when you've got the the bottom of the barrel, scraped it for the dregs and there's that hardened sludgy scum right in the folds?

That's what is currently supporting Trump, and they're not useful for anything beyond derision and despair. Despair that there are so many of them.

It was an online form, accessible to anyone, that allowed anyone to fill it in and make any type of claim (that’s not a snarky description it is exactly as it was described in the court hearing) thankfully the judge in that case didn’t allow them to be used as evidence.

So keep in mind when you read “affidavit” it could be something with no more validity than an online poll asking which is the best Enterprise.

I think I was picking up on something that Bubba posted - that the Sidney person had all kinds of evidence - witnesses, documents and affidavits. It occurred to me that these can all be the same thing. A person reporting a rumor signs an online form. Voila - you have a “witness” signing a document, aka an affidavit. Throw in some reference to Hugo Chavez and election fraud and you can cobble together a few sentences that sound kind of impressive until you break it down and realize it’s actually a classic BS maneuver.

Supporters are like, "Oh, he just wants to make sure the votes are valid and count only the legal ones."

No. He's trying to stop states from certifying results and have the legislature choose the electors instead of basing it on the outcome of the election.

This is not about counting votes.

Exactly. He's now trying to directly influence two GOP Michigan canvassers by asking them to come to the WH today where the top MI GOP legislative leaders, Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey and House Speaker Lee Chatfield, will be meeting with Trump. He's also putting pressure on GA Governor Kemp to "flip" Georgia red even though the state has now certified the state's election for Biden. Trump has no business interfering in any State's election process. Yet he is doing so right out in the open and no one is doing a damn thing about it because no one can control this narcissistic sociopath bent on doing as much damage as he can before Jan. 20th.

Somewhere I heard someone say that her pitch yesterday sounded like a Sean Hannity monologue. That's a good description.

I listen to right wing radio when I'm in my car, and each of the yappers has a distinctive style. Hannity's involves a non-stop banter where he throws off side accusations constantly. He casually drops a reference to emails or Benghazi in the middle of a discussion of a tax bill, but moves on without actually defending it. He ends up repeating certain lies again and again in such a way that his flock just accept them as truth. Sydney Powell seemed to be doing that sort of thing yesterday. Say one thing after another, and throw so many things out that you hope one of them is true.

It's sad that our President would condone such tactics, but then again, that's why he isn't going to be President much longer.

It's consistent with a lack of respect for the people's ability to separate fantasy from reality, but the GOP is the gaslight party, so that's not a stretch.

If that's the case, it remains amazing that the GOP has been this successful in a country that imagines itself a model for democracy.

That's not true. Nothing is on hold. The office of the Secretary of State sent out a press release saying Secretary of State Raffensperger "will certify" the results Friday which is the day by law that Georgia is supposed to certify the election. Raffensperger has also made it clear that he will enforce the will of the people.
