Cont: 2020 Presidential Election part 3

I'm trying to imagine what is going on in the minds of those unfortunate enough to believe Trump's tweets.

It must really seem like the Deep State is controlling almost everyone and everything.
A conspiracy of millions, and no one is talking.

Quite the variety of things, really, depending on which kind of Trump supporter it might be. Generally, though, I'd say the most common delusion in that particular group is likely the belief that Trump is actually on their side. Most of the specifics are likely to be superfluous after that.

You gotta love DJT for just telling it like it is. Except when he's joking. Look how he's made everything so great! Except it's a liberal hellhole. Which is why we need four more years! To make America even greaterer again than before!

I don't know, my conservative relatives seem to have a guidebook for this stuff. My nephew tells me all about it, when he's not educating me on the USAF program that's faking global warming.

I very much enjoy how the vaccine announcement came after Nov 3, and how that makes him stark raving mad.

Still on the same tweet theme

trump tweets

The Fake News Media hardly even discussed the tens of thousands of people that came to D.C. Formed organically, and in many parts of the Country

People are formed in many parts of the country! A truly profound observation from a very stable genius.

LOL. He's such a loser. He admits that Biden won and tries to take it back. Jim Carrey needs to be in his ear 24/7 calling him a L-O-S-E-R loser!

as has been mentioned before:

2020: Biden wins by ~5.6 million and gets 306 electoral votes

2016: Trump loses by ~3 million and gets 306 electoral votes

All I can say is **** the Electoral College.

It may be law of the land, but it is wrong, wrong, wrong.

That stupid, idiotic, lying, POS Trump has finally gotten around to acknowledging the obvious by stating that Biden won the election.

But, of course, that stupid, idiotic, lying, POS Trump went on to say that the election was rigged and that he refuses to concede the election.

One of Trump's lawyers, Sidney Powell, was on Fox News lying that Trump actually won the election by "millions of votes."
These people are out of their minds.

I agree. We always knew he would say it was rigged. Keep in mind that this is the same guy who won in 2016 and still said for three and a half years that he won the popular vote when he didn't.

But it is a step in the right direction.

At this point, he knows full well he lost. He's mostly just trash talking now - which would be great in professional wrestling and some other businesses, but is not good when running the most powerful nation on earth.

I think a good many of his fans understand that this is just trash talk, but they think it is all good fun because they think one should never give an inch to one's enemies, even in defeat. Which again, is fine in some situations but has its limits in the current situation.

There is, I suppose and element of opportunism. If he gets enough people riled up, shotguns/spaghetti throws enough lawsuits and populist pressure, maybe he'll get lucky and make something happen. Almost certainly not, but he's having fun trying.

The main real concerns now are how soon he allows GSA to start the transition process, and whether or not any of the trash-talk motivates people to violence. I'm getting a bit less worried every day, mostly because the lawsuits have been such failures and because we've got some statements from the critical state governments stating that the elections are valid and the results will be followed. GSA may not be transitioning but the states are assigning delegates and the process of putting together Electoral College is moving along. The gradual grinding progress of that will allow people to slowly come to terms with the situation. (But they'll keep on trash talking and expressing denialism because they think that's fun.)

The GOP is tied wrist and ankles to Trump supporters. The hold-outs that piss them off won't be around long to worry the rest.
I would like to think that the more rational Republicans would gain a greater voice with Trump out of office but it doesn't look like he is going to drop out of politics.

how?

The rational Republicans joined the Lincoln Project or at least silently endorsed it, and as far as we can tell, it had about zero impact on the Election.

Face it: without Trump to pull them, the GOP got nothing.

It will take time. There will still be plenty of Trump supporters around after he leaves office.

In the long term, I don't think it in the interests of the US to be a one party nation (I'm an Independent who voted for Biden this time and no one last time.)

When Trump is dead, sure.

How did you tell? I'm of the belief the high number of split tickets points to the opposite conclusion.
