I think her answer to that would be that that's her whole point. When it was Trump people holding rallies, Democrats were saying, "Bad Trump! You shouldn't hold rallies!" Now that people are dancing in the street for Biden, no one is saying, "Bad Democrats!" It was all just a bunch of phony concern rigged up to make Trump lose.

As is so often the case with Trumpsters, there's one problem with that. People are, in fact, saying, "Bad Democrats". I heard several times on CNN cautionary notes that these kind of demonstrations were bringing people together and that people were not being sufficiently cautious.

And of course, why stop at one problem? The second problem is that these demonstrations are not being organized or encouraged by the Biden campaign. They were spontaneous expressions of joy that Trump was relegated to the history books.

So, basically, she would have had a good point, if what she was saying had been true.

As it was, it was just kind of pouty little whine from someone who has to work on her resume.

President Bartlet was the President in the show The West Wing. In the image in question, President Bartlet was getting ready to perform his speech about his bid for re-election after it not being clear if he would or not run due to a medical condition. Campaign staff had made signs that said "Bartlet for President", his communications director, Toby Ziegler (shown in the picture), took umbrage at that and crossed out the "for" and wrote "IS THE".

Not to mention that many of the Trump rallies were indoors, with few people wearing masks. The current celebrations are outdoor, and everyone I've seen at one has had a mask on. Its a false equivalency.

Organized/planned, indoors, no mask

vs.

Unplanned, outdoor, with masks.

Third problem.... from the pictures I have seen of the Biden win celebrations/demonstrations, mask usage was near universal. Compare that to the pro-Trump protests and Trump's campaign rallies, where masks were about as common as a vegetable on Donald Trump's dinner plate.

Masks are not perfect, but wearing them does significantly cut down the risk, and Biden supporters seem recognize that fact. Trump supporters... not so much.

Boris Johnson was a bit slow to offer his congratulations and when he did it was a bit muted and on a sombre black background. That was NOT what he wanted or thought could happen.

I want to see Biden put his foot down with McConnell: Negotiate or Biden will pass whatever thing is wanted by an EO without GOP input. He can be pleasant about it, but if he lets McConnell walk all over him like Obama let McConnell, trying to be nice, it's going to look real bad for Biden.

Anderson Cooper just said "President-Elect Trump is due to speak soon", then caught himself immediately. Probably because last time that was true (pre-Inauguration) he had to say it so many times that it is a natural reflex.
