2020 Presidential Election part 2

Oh and since we're looking at at least a 4, maybe closer to or even over 5 million vote difference in the popular vote, I don't want to hear one goddamn ******* peep from the Trumpers (or the Fence Sitters or the Bernie-Bro Progressives) about this being a "close" election even if he doesn't gain one single more electoral vote (which he near certainly will anyway.)

I must admit to being fascinated by this network "calling it" phenomenon. I've watched it all my life, and I sort of get it, but it really is kind of weird.
.

Nah, it's just from the time when there was less information. It used to be that we weren't able to watch the vote tallies as they came in in real time, and didn't have the information we have now about where votes are left to be counted, etc. And so the role of the media was to tell us what was going on. And when they "call" the election, for a state or whatever, they aren't making any formal determination, what they are saying is that we have enough information now to reliably predict who is going to win. It has no official meaning, no, it's reporting.

With the information we have now, anyone can do their own projection, just as well as anyone else, because we all have the same information. As has been noted, this was all waiting until PA could be safely determined, and as soon as Biden hit the .5% threshold, game over. They also know that Trump's whining about fraud is baseless.

The media are there to report things. They want to report who is going to win, because the sooner they can do that, the better they look. But they can't afford to be wrong, so they want to report reliable information. That's why MOST media outlets had not called AZ (and still haven't).

"Mr President, we may need you to vacate the premises sooner than expected. President Elect Biden's cleaning crew says there is a stain on the Oval Office that will take a lot of work to remove"

I'm confident that SCOTUS will not even consider a challenge to the election results. None of the legal experts I've seen interviewed think it will happen. I think it's a done deal.

There's not been any actual basis for a challenge to the results. The only cases that Trump didn't get laughed out of court were "let observers get closer to the counters" and "segregate the late arriving votes in Pennsylvania" like they were already doing and had been doing from the beginning.

There's been no credible claim of any foul play in any way.

I've seen people respond to requests for evidence of fraud with "I am an election worker, and it's not possible to detect fraud if it occurs." OK, fine, but that's not evidence of fraud. "It's possible to commit fraud with mail in votes" =/= "there has been fraud with mail in votes."

And I know it's possible to commit fraud with mail-in voting, because I've already told the story of how my mom did it.

And your mom's story is the only election fraud I remember from Arizona. A lady in Fountain Hills (outside Phoenix) got her dead husbands ballot in the mail and filled it out.

I make one prediction about the Biden Adminsitration:
The Secretary of the Interior will be from a Western state. That has been standard for both parties for over a century.

Yeah, there's no reasonable challenge to the results of this election. Trump will continue to flail and shriek like a child because he's indeed a child.

Tom Udall. A retiring Senator from New Mexico. His father was Secretary of Interior under Kennedy and Johnson. Apparently, he's the most likely candidate.

I hope the White House career staff inventory everything that's not nailed down before Trump's trucks roll up.
