The guy that took part in a lynching lied about his involvement after the fact and tried to throw his accomplices under the bus to save himself. Nothing shocking here. I'm glad the murderers are turning on eachother and exposing the obvious lies, should make convicting all three easier.

It is being reported that Bryan Jr.'s truck had a dent in it with fibers from his victim's clothing. Seems clear that Roddie hit Arbery with his truck during the chase before the video in which we see the final shooting.

I'm very much looking forward to this "citizen's arrest" defense to completely collapse under the overwhelming weight of evidence against our three murderers.

Makes you more confident about what a "jury of their peers" might feel about a lynching. Local noses seem to be able to smell a rat just fine.

Conspiratorize in covering up a murder and you have to update your resume? Baby steps I suppose.

Most of the time I just let grammar stuff slide right on by, but for some reason I couldn't with this one. I just had to know.

Is there something wrong with just saying "Conspire"?

I wholeheartedly agree with the intent of your post, but this just seems to distract from its merit.

I have a habit of intentionally odd inflections when being flippant. Apparently it doesn't always come across when posting

Oh, please. I'm not gonna read some article from a radical fringe website known for it's involvement with psychics, cryptozoologists, 'magicians', and flim-flam artists. It doesn't even *pretend* to be a news site, let alone to have no bias.

Oh bravo

Well played sir, well played!

It isn't so much that I was bothered by it. I was just curious.

The off-putting part to me, if there is any, is the resemblance to the sort of newspeak one gets from salescretins and the people who do seminars for corporations.

That's sort of where I got it. Acclimate vs acclimatize in building materials

Oh even better!

Although... "conversate" is a term that one of my prior coworkers used all the time. It took immense willpower to not interject "converse" every time it came up.

I'm in building construction, and the mangling of language is downright sitcomacized.

One guy I work with is entranced with the term 'substrate'. Absolutely anything that is under something else is a substrate. Including, and I swear, that a notepad is the substrate of a pen.
