2020 Presidential Election

The concession speech. The fully peaceful transition of power. The departing note to your successor. Maintaining dialogs with former Presidents because no matter how different your politics are there are at least perspectives to be gained. Former Presidents just going off to lead (usually deserved) quiet lives mostly outside the public eye.

We're not going to get any of those things with Trump.

Hell no!

Twitter will explode with endless tweets from the manbaby whining and bitching nonstop about anything and everything he can throw at the wall. Every day. Every night. All day. All night. On the toilet. At the golf course. In the middle of getting his bum spanked with his imaginary Nobel Prize. Whilst gnawing on a KFC chicken leg. And wanking to Tucker's sexy lip service.

And of course, every USA news network will continue to report on every one of those neverending tweets. Which will then reverberate across the globe to every other country's news networks.

For.
The.
Next.
Four.
*******.
Years.

Ugh.... just shoot me now. Please.

Nah, once he's no longer president Twitter has no reason to treat his unhinged rants as publicly important or official statements. He'll be banned fairly quickly after he's out of office because he's currently incapable of following the TOS.

I'm sure he'll find a new place to bloviate and as long as there is a market the media will report on it. But I'm pretty sure that coverage will fade as well since at least half of the engagement now is by folks forced to care about what he says by his position in government.

As an American, I was thinking exactly the same thing.

What has sadly happened is that "the second amendment" has become one of those meaningless phrases that are part of sound bites and stock language. It doesn't actually mean the real, actual, second amendment when Trump or his buds use the phrase. It means any step at all that could restrict access to a gun in any way.

Trigger locks? Second amendment.
Machine guns? Second amdendment.
Waiting period? Second amendment.
Assault weapons? You are so stupid that you don't know that there is no definition of an assault weapon and don't even know the definition of semi-automatic - and second amendment.

It's quite troubling, because like so many other phrases in American politics, it becomes an automatic excluded middle. Compromise on gun rights is impossible, because literally any effort to change access to guns is declared immediately a violation of sacred rights, and they simply refuse to even discuss the possibility that maybe it's a bad idea, as an example, to allow a teenager wander the streets of a city with a loaded assault rifle in the middle of a riot. To restrict that right would be the destruction of the second amendment and, by extension, the entire constitution - or so we are told.

What specifically are the Democrats not doing to stop the voter suppression?

Oh, they've been moving on it for...what, two years now, more or less? I can think of a few outside of the CBC that really pushes at the federal level. Warren reading Coretta Scott King's letter on Session's white supremacism is a good example. Obama (a former CBC member) pushed it as well. But no, the leadership was mostly clear that they they didn't want to discuss it publicly - a big mistake.

Is Gab still around? I recall that being the place for nazi wannabes a few years ago, so he could fit right in there.

Vote Choice Among Early Voters

Hm. Appears to be part of a really old study. The ink has faded badly since it was released.
Can anyone with good eye sight make out where it's from and when it was published.

Just click on it then click again, the bottom info gets very big. It's brand new: data collected between 10-22 and 10-28, 2020

Democracy Fund + UCLA Nationscape, whatever that is.

Can you imagine Trump walking Biden down the halls of the White House followed a long deep conversation in the garden before handing him the keys to the front door?

Mind is blown just thinking of that.

What do you imagine Trump might write in the letter traditionally left on the Resolute desk for the successor President? My guess is nothing -- he won't write one.

In the event that Joe Biden is elected president, there will not be a smooth transition of power. How can there be when there hasn't been a smooth wielding of power ?

The Trump Administration has so many posts filled by loyal incompetents, so many vacant posts and has deliberately dismantled so many departments that even if they have the best intentions of a smooth transfer of power, they simply cannot do it.

There's no doubt that it would be in Sharpie if he did. Leaving permanent bleed-through marks as he did it.

Funnily enough, Trump just made it way easier to fire anyone in government for no good reason.
And Biden has a huge team doing little else than drawing up lists of candidates to fill posts.

Not heard anything about it but something that I think is rather frightening is that ex president Trump can continue to receive national security briefings.

Did Trump fire people? I thought they were all arrested
It's rather amusing when you think most of his fame comes from playing a character that is a caricature of a tough billionaire tycoon on the telly with a catchphrase of "You're fired!" that in real life he is such a coward he gets other people to fire people for him.

Senator Rick Scott was speaking Spanish at Trump's rally in Miami.

I'm pretty sure "Quatro more year-ohs" is not actual Spanish.

Trump Tweets

Just learned that Sleepy Joe Biden is campaigning in Pennsylvania with Lady Gaga, a proud member of “Artists Against Fracking.” This is more proof that he would ban Fracking and skyrocket your energy prices...

...As I said at the debate – “Will you remember that Texas?Pennsylvania? Ohio? New Mexico?” I will always protect American Energy and American Jobs! Get out and VOTE #MAGA!

For 47 years, Sleepy Joe Biden betrayed Hispanic-Americans. Now he wants to close your small businesses, eliminate school choice, and attack our Hispanic Law Enforcement Heroes. I will always stand with the incredible Hispanic-American community!

Under my leadership, our ECONOMY is now growing at the fastest rate EVER recorded—33.1%! #MAGA

Joe Biden is a corrupt politician who is bought and paid for by China! In 2016, Georgia voted to FIRE this corrupt political establishment and you elected an outsider as President who is finally putting AMERICA FIRST!
