Donald Trump is just pathetic.

I agree the substance of these performances is lacking in substance, to put it mildly. Borders on “President Camacho” Theater of the Absurd much of the time.

One thing that does surprise me is his endurance, considering his age and fitness level. I’m a few years younger, reasonably fit and not obese, but just the travel and jet lag would be challenging for me after just a day or so.

Then again, drugs may be involved. But on the other hand he just battled COVID 19 and had his lungs involved.

Not meant as praise, faint or otherwise. Just an observation.

You might do better than you think. There is no jet lag for these short flights, and someone who travels a lot gets used to it. Plus, he doesn't have the waiting around and other hassles of normal air travel the rest of us endure.

It's the difference between sitting on his keister, watching FoxNews, going on Twitter rants and eating junk food in the White House and doing exactly the same on Air Force 1.

The rallies will certainly take some effort but my (very limited ) experience of performing in front of an enthusiastic crowd is that you get a huge buzz for them no matter how fatigued you may be feeling. There's also a "come down" afterwards but he's then got the travel time on Air Force 1 to recover.

The advantage of his rallies is that he doesn't have to prepare beforehand or concentrate during it so it's a lot less wearing than it would be for someone who is looking to give a polished performance and get specific complicated messages across.

There is no "may" about it. Plus, all they have to do is prop him up at a podium for an hour or so, then wheel him back to AF1 and his cheeseburger.

Debacle after Trump rally in Nebraska as supporters are left stranded in near freezing temperature. Scene described as very chaotic as the crowd, many of whom are quite elderly, were suffering from signs of hypothermia.

By the time President Trump finished speaking to thousands of supporters at Omaha’s Eppley Airfield on Tuesday night and jetted away on Air Force One, the temperature had plunged to nearly freezing.

But as long lines of MAGA-clad attendees queued up for buses to take them to distant parking lots, it quickly became clear that something was wrong.

The buses, the huge crowd soon learned, couldn’t navigate the jammed airport roads. For hours, attendees — including many elderly Trump supporters — stood in the cold, as police scrambled to help those most at-risk get to warmth.

At least seven people were taken to hospitals, according to Omaha Scanner, which monitors official radio traffic. Police and fire authorities didn’t immediately return messages from The Washington Post early Wednesday and declined to provide reporters on the scene with precise numbers of how many needed treatment.

At his rally in Pennsylvania, Trump threatened to punish Pennsylvania for asking him to follow COVID-19 safety procedures at his rallies.

Recounting how his campaign had to move the site of the rally to comply with Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf's Covid-19 protocols, Trump said this:
"I'll remember it, Tom. I'm gonna remember it, Tom. 'Hello, Mr. President, this is Governor Wolf, I need help, I need help.' You know what? These people are bad."
Let's be very clear what Trump is doing here: He is threatening to withhold federal aid -- or some sort of other assistance -- the next time Pennsylvania needs it because the state's governor, according to the President, made it difficult to find a site to hold a campaign rally. Yes, really.
Oh, and by the way, a spokeswoman for Wolf's office insisted to Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that Trump's version of this story is simply wrong -- that the governor's office sent a letter to Trump's campaign earlier in the year requesting that they adhere to social distancing and masks guidelines, but that's it.

The core of it is that the Trump campaign very much wants people to turn out for rallies, they're not so bothered about people getting back.

OTOH the football team is interested in weekly repeat business.

I think this is the lowest he has fallen and it comes after about three weeks hovering at 12-13%

I don't know, I think it would be nice to fly around on air force one all day long. I think it has a large master bedroom for Trump, himself, as well as small side bedroom for Melania. Just kidding!

Point of reference. Nebraska is one of two states (along with Maine) that isn't a winner take all for Electoral Votes.

Nebraska overall is polling well for Trump (ballpark of 8-12 points ahead depending on the pollsters), but there's a strong possibility that Biden could pick up a single Electoral Vote there (The Nebraska 2nd District is currently polling very well in favor of Biden) and rumor has it Trump's campaign is really concerned with it coming down to one or two votes.

The exact opposite, slightly closer, is happening in Maine. Biden has a safe lead for 3 of Maine's Electoral Votes, but is tied or close to it in most polls for the 4th one.
