There is no need to doubt that some will have time to take advantage of the fact that Trump is sick. This is politics and it is often forgotten that they are all people, first of all, and this can happen to anyone. Whatever the president he is, but still I would like to wish a speedy recovery. The disease can affect everyone and it is a universal problem. You shouldn't gloat about this.

^This. Even more so, in Trump’s case we have someone who aggressively discouraged those around him from wearing masks or social distancing in his presence because of the “bad” political optics. This occurred both in public gatherings and among the White House staff. He has told journalists to rip off their masks in his presence! How many of those in the West Lawn Supreme Court nomination soirée were actually infected specifically because of these direct demands by Trump?

But the effects of these up close and personal actions didn’t rise to the level of murder. What did was Trump’s broader public actions in failing to respond to the pandemic by discouraging the actions recommended by scientists and doctors and successfully implemented by many countries. As a result 4 times as many Americans have died per capita vs many other countries. Again for purely political reasons, That was murder.

Sympathy? I have none for a criminal who accidentally shoots himself in the leg while recklessly spewing bullets around the room.

There are 8 million (registered) active cases in the world. 2.6 million in the USA. Most of them are probably know that it is all about Trump and that no one but their loved ones cares about their lives.

I would assume that the other people are recovering unremarkably. The head of security services though was hospitalized and seriously ill. But someone like Hope Hicks? She's young and probably did not have a lot of complications. If someone were having a much harder time of it, I suspect we'd hear about it. The default of the White House press corps is probably to respect the privacy of most WH staffers. Trump is an obvious exception.

What are they going to do if one of the other 34 people infected from that superspreader event actually dies of this disease? Try to pretend they never existed previously? That it was in the covfefe they habitually fetched? They are all generally older folks, and COVID becomes significantly more deadly for the elderly and those not taking precautions. So the odds are at least one of them will become seriously ill, with a distinct possibility of a fatality occurring. I don't wish premature death on anyone, but given how they are desperately trying to hide Trump's medical results, I'm expecting there has been a severe downplaying/airbrushing of any negative developments among the others.
