It's the word "record" as in unprecedented. The Stock Market certainly didn't hit "record highs". So to be a record, it would need to be...the other direction??

Frankly, I don't think it was a "record" anything at all. It just went up and down a bit based on news as it appears. It's just the ant-walking-on-a-blade-of-grass thing: Even a tiny rise looks mountainous.

Surely the only safe thing is to have Trump isolated entirely, since we know he has covid? We live in 2020. Insist that the debate be conducted over the air, with Drumpf in the White House or Walter Reed, and Biden, well, wherever he pleases. Trump will refuse, but then Biden can weaponise this as another sign Trump cares nothing about covid safety.

It's the only safe way to proceed. Nixon/Kennedy did a remote debate decades ago, there's no reason it can't be done now.

No, I think Trump literally did not understand that Powell was firing at the Senate and White House for not pushing through another stimulus bill. Given the context of the House passing a new bill and the Repugnicans digging in their heels, his meaning was clear to anyone with a triple-digit IQ.

It's probably worth considering what game McConnell's playing and what his actual goals are, though, either way. It's fairly certainly not the same as a normal person would think that it should be, regardless.
