Watching the debate tonight?

"Trump Derangement Syndrome."

I'll never get tired of watching trolls pretend to clutch their pearls because someone was vaguely snarky to their psychopath.

TDS is a strange disorder.
Regarding this shallow, mindless insult...

There's something that renders the "TDS" concept as flat out asinine, and that's the mind-boggling list of prominent Republicans, military leaders, and former aids who have succumbed to this bull **** syndrome. Damn, it's more contagious than covid.

Cue "deep state"...

Why even so much emphasis on who wins a debate? What's the prize? What matters is the presentation of policies (none of which we got that night), and how the approval ratings go the next few days. People can say one guy won a debate and still vote for the other guy.

A lot of the people who want live fact checking already know the facts. Nothing in the debate is going to change their mind. It is just another tool to try and affect others they think are dumber than them.

Political points scoring. Both sides on the look out for something they can sell as the "Dukakis in the Tank, "You my friend are no...," Checkers" moment.

They are soundbite and slogan generators, at best.

As I said, only those with TDS were cheering Biden when he regressed to name calling the President of the USA. Thank you for proving my point so well.

It was just Trump so it's okay. Trump isn't good enough to be treated with basic human dignity.

It's not a disorder to want to remove a filthy Russian whore and traitor from power.

Yes it was beneath the office of President. As a former Vice President he may not realize this as he has never sat in the big seat and likely never will. I'm sure there were cheers from those with TDS, but far more potential voters were likely offended and disgusted with Biden's words.

Trump would be the expert at what's beneath the office of the president being that he's a traitor to his nation.

Why does calling the President a name degrade the office more than the President having a childish nickname for literally everyone?

*He asks knowing he won't get a non-troll answer*

The first polls impacted by the debates are hitting this morning and Biden pulled ahead in Florida to a 2 point lead, gaining about three tenths of a percent. Michigan and Wisconsin are out of reach now and Pennsylvania likely is too. That's the win right there. Florida would be insurance. Biden made gains in Arizona as well. Saturday we should see the first polls entirely conducted after the debates.

Yeah as it stands now Biden gets over 270 without factoring Ohio, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, Iowa, or Georgia, all of which are close enough that it's likely he'll win at least some of them as well.

The only potential problem, outside of the Trump just straight up not accepting the results of the election like every single indicators says he is going to do, is that Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania are those states where it is likely we won't have results on election night.

Trump demanding the counting stop on election night before the Democrat leaning absentee votes are counting is one of of his more "legit" (massive sarcasm) paths to him being declaring the winner.

Actually most Biden supporters were disappointed that he name called at all. I was, although I don’t know how long I would be able to resist the deluge of insults and lies spewing out of Trump while being denied my allocated time to reply. Including lies and personal attacks against my family.

And remind me: what was the ratio of personal insults by Biden vs Trump? 3 times to 3000? Also Biden immediately apologized after the one time he called Trump a clown.

And that's always been the trap. We have standards of decorum so we're punished more when we break them while they never have to answer for never having standards to fail to live up to.

Again every version of their philosophy is some variation on "How dare you have standards you don't live up to 100% of the time!"

It's how they can look at Trump being an across the board manchild and Biden can have like 2 or 3 moments of human frustration and they clutch their pearls at Biden. Because Trump never committed the sin of trying to have standards and be a good person, so when doesn't live up to that he hasn't committed the cardinal sins of being "a hypocrite" or "not being as good as you think you are."

Why? He said that verbatim about McCain and made fun of him for not being able to lift his arms. Mattis is suddenly overrated and Kelly was exhausted and can’t handle pressure.

Honestly thoughtlessly insulting people for putting selfless sacrifice and duty before personal gain is much more in line with his behavior both in public and private than not.

But remember Trump is not a reliable source so him saying something is not an indication that Trump actually said it.

The pearl clutching over Biden telling Trump to shut up and calling him a clown is hysterical.

ETA: Speaking of the "disrespect" that Biden showed Trump by telling him to shut up and calling him a clown, ChrisBFRPKY seems to have no problem with Trump showing disrespect to former VP Biden by lying about his son Hunter. He falsely claimed that Hunter was dishonorably discharged and that he had no job before getting one through his father.

Speaking about sons who wouldn't have jobs if it wasn't for daddy... I can name two of the top of my head.

I don't think it's about Biden being rude. I think it is about how the Führer, specifically, is not to be insulted. He's supposed to be the biggest bully on the playground, someone who feels safe talking smack and being all big and intimidating, be it to presidential candidates, women, or disabled reporters. Someone telling him to shut up undermines that image.

One of Trump's complaints about mail-in ballots was that people were voting before any of the debates. I guess he thinks his overwhelming charisma is going to cause a massive shift in support.
