Disloyal: A Memoir - Michael Cohen's book

Cohen claims that he was in the room when Donny Junior came in and informed him that the meeting with the Russians was all set and about to take place. He also describes how he continued to work on the Trump Tower Moscow deal during the campaign and a bit about the mid level Russian Mafia he was dealing with (though he claims he was trying to cut them out).

From Mary Trump's book and earlier in Cohen's book it's a bit hard to swallow that Trump didn't know about or authorize the meeting with the Russians. The nitts who grew into lice simply didn't make decisions without daddy's blessing.

Cohen devots almost a full chapter or Corey Lewandowski, describing the then campaign manager's actions in attempting to plant a story that Jared Kushner was gay and Ivanka was having an affair. Trump wanted to keep Lewandowski on even after Cohen brought proof of the leak.

I was amused by Cohen's description of the humiliating dressing down both elder sons got over their African hunting trip. It seems Trump is an animal lover, unless their breaded and deep fried with a side of onion rings. He thought shooting a bunch of animals with a high powered rifle wasn't particularly manly.

Cohen actually seems to be sympathetic to the older sons, almost pitying them because of the way Trump delights in their public humiliation.

....

In interviews about his own book, Peter Strzok has said that's what made Trump vulnerable to Russian blackmail: Trump was actively trying to make a deal with Russia, and when he lied about it repeatedly Putin knew he was lying and could reveal it. Paradoxically, if Trump had just said "I've been trying for years to build a hotel in Moscow, but the Russians aren't interested," it would have been close to the truth, and probably not many people would have cared.

There is no doubt in my mind that Trump knew everything about that meeting. Trump is just like his father; he's a control freak. His sons do nothing without his knowledge or without his approval. He is also like his father in another way; he's cruel. His sister, Maryanne, comes right out and says so in the recordings Mary Trump made. He takes delight in dressing down his sons and humiliating them just as Fred Trump did to his children, with the exception of their Golden Child. That child they see as an extension of themselves. In Fred's case that was Donald. In Donald's case, that is Ivanka.

So, during the first campaign, when Trump made crude remarks about blood coming out of Megan Kelly's "wherever", Kelly started getting death threats. It got so bad that she had to move her family out of their condo and check into a hotel. Roger Ailes and Sean Hannity ended up having to go to Trump to get him to try to get his followers to stop threatening Kelly. The whole thing ended with Trump going on the Kelly's show and getting a bunch of pre-approved softball questions to show the Trump supporters that all was forgiven.

Roger Stone only makes a brief appearance. It makes sense Cohen got paid well, above what he had in private practice, in the end. Though he ended up paying his own salary at one point.

But it baffles me, how does one make money as Roger Stone. He only creates disorder, spreads conspiracy theories and makes outrageous statements. What was there for Trump to pay for?

Stone, the "keeper of the Nixon flame",[57] was an adviser to the former President in his post-presidential years, serving as "Nixon's man in Washington".[58] Stone was a protégé of former Connecticut Governor John Davis Lodge, who introduced the young Stone to former Vice President Nixon in 1967.[59] After Stone was indicted in 2019, the Nixon Foundation released a statement distancing Stone's ties to Nixon.

Not disclosing the Links between Jerome Corsi and Russia, Corsi's books are Funded though Bulk Purchases from fronts for Russia with money from Moscow.
Though some idiots do buy Corsi's books Moscow sees him and Most Infowariors as useful idiots sowing division in America, that's why RTV endused me to save Corsi in February 2008.

The weird thing with all these Trump books, or articles like that in The Atlantic about disrespect toward veterans, or the Mueller report, or the recent Senate report, is that all we actually learn from them are (sometimes juicy) titbits.

But Trump, each and every day, in tweets or "briefings", actions and inactions, shows us who and what he is. There is no 3d chess, "he is what he is". The books, articles, and reports just confirm it.

That's the thing when all the really bad stuff is already on full display and accepted by so many all that's left has to seem anticlimactic. If you're okay with Godzilla trampling Tokyo are you going to change your mind because he uses a deprepreciative term for iguanas in behind closed doors?

Dude, that's awesome can I use that? With attribution of course.

Trump failed to get another season for Apprentice. He had time to run president. The first campaign headquarters was set up on the 5th floor of Trump Tower amomg the discarded set for Apprentice. It was just another reality show.
(Page 216 Cohen book.)

A few pages later in the spring of 2015 he comes down the escalator to a crowd. In his very first rambling hour long speech the Mexican rapists were already there.

Does he confirm that the “crowd” at his announcement was hired actors?

P.326 Cohen is even angrier at the Steele report than Trump. Likely everything the press then claimed about Cohen and Russia is false. Cohen did not go on the business trip to Russia with the beauty pageant.

Finished the book. It covers very little of 2016-2018.
