I have to say that from a Nordic perspective your country sounds more like Colombia more than any shining city on a hill... What is this gun fetish about? I mean I understand the historical roots but can't you kind of come to the modern age about it, like mature?

This is something similar but more 'numbers' of both sides, by the nature of our ability to communicate widely. Teams show up, posture, yell, and destroy. And sometimes it ignites to worse- like in Kenosha. Still we do not know why the guy was being chased at the start but maybe we will learn soon what sparked it.

There are about 30 other deaths in all these riot areas over the last 3 months, right?

I dont know much about them other than the stat. I do recall the retired police captain gunned down at one of the first riots. The others arent really mentioned.

The "Roof Koreans" were local. They were defending their own businesses and not going out of their way to confront protesters. There were preexisting tensions between these communities, including a famous murder of a black teenager by a Korean shopkeeper. There are no reports that these people actually shot anyone, and that a display of restrained force was adequate to defend their territory during the riots.

These militia types are riot tourists seeking out confrontation and opportunities to kill. The 4chan inspired "roof Koreans" meme has little to do with self defense and a lot to do with finding a pretext to act out political violence. They prowl the streets with the explicit approval of the cops looking for opportunities to gun down people committing vandalism.

To be honest, I have no issue with responsible weapon ownership While I don't own a gun of any sort and likely never will , due to some severe depression incidents I've had, I've met plenty of people who hunt deer to both compliment their normal food grocery shopping, and to thin out the deer population so they don't overrun the area (or at least, that's their view - I generally don't bother researching.) I've also met people with fairly legit, "my ex says he's going to find me and rape and kill me" serlf-defense concerns, and you've seen how well cops here handle aggressive people. I've also met a couple of folks who use simple rifles for sport shooting - which I would likely enjoy doing if I could own my own equipment.


SO yeah, it's definitely not all gun fetishists that sit around grumbling about how much they'd love to shoot someone some day. The problem is this - it's everything I've listed in the previous paragraph, but it's the wannabe killers, too, as well as people that are sometimes depressed like me, who end up blowing their own brains out, all too often at a shooting range. And the problem is, we're unwilling to do much of anything about the messed-up parts of it - Dolt 45 & Friends are fighting to make sure people don't have access to mental health, many rural people wouldn't have any real access in any case, and the GOP in general refuses to do anything to restrict even known violent abusers thanks to the gun lobby.

Right. No, they'd go absolutely berserk if some black person started randomly shooting them. They're terrified, but very well-armed, and all too often act with no regard for the lives of those they supposedly "serve and protect". , and the white supremacists that lick their boots would join in, just like this kid did here. Or for that matter, look at the ex-navy guy that killed 5 cops at a BLM march. Even the Dallas PD stated outright that he told them he hated BLM and had no affiliation with them, and yet people *still* use him as their reason why "Black Lives matter is a terrorist group", because they think black guys are violent thugs by default - and thus white allies are race traitors or "******-lovers".

Seems to be the opinion of the state that every gunshot of Kyle's was unlawful. Includes summaries of interviews with witnesses.

The charge of reckless endangerment of McGinnis is interesting because he is a journalist who was not involved in any kind of physical confrontation with our young murderer. There is no self-defense claim for the reckless endangerment of McGinnis, because McGinnis was not involved in any attack. McGinnis had actually interviewed Kyle shortly before the murders and is seen on video taking his shirt off to use as a bandage for the mortally wounded Rosenbaum.

A self-defense scenario is not carte-blanche to cause collateral damage. Based on the reporting, it sounds like McGinnis might have be struck by bullet fragments after Rittenhouse shot the ground. He is described as being in the line of fire when Rosenbaum was shot. This charge seems like it could stick even if a self-defense claim for the shooting of Rosenbaum prevailed.

The state describes the actions of most of the victims as people attempting to disarm a dangerous gunman.

Another unambiguous charge is under 18 going armed with a dangerous weapon. The statute reads:

(2) 
(a) Any person under 18 years of age who possesses or goes armed with a dangerous weapon is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.

I can't see any argument for why Rittenhouse is not guilty of this. The same statute also makes it a felony for any adult to provide a dangerous weapon to a minor. Whoever gave Rittenhouse this AR-15 should be charged.

I realize that Paul may have been traumatized by the beating his neighbor gave him, and I honestly do think that that should never have happened, but he was in no danger at all.

Curious when people are going to turn on Ngo. He's been doing a lot of outright content theft, including from other right wing reporter types. He rarely gets his own ass out in the streets these days, much easier to just poach other people's videos and steal all the attention.

The most pathetic thing about Ngo might be the fake British (sorta) accent that he pretends to have.

I guess these crimes are too small potatoes. You seem to only be a fan of criminals charged with multiple homicides.
