Trump Tweets

I am pleased to inform the American Public that Acting Secretary Chad Wolf will be nominated to be the Secretary of Homeland Security. Chad has done an outstanding job and we greatly appreciate his service!
What a smart political decision...

Lets get everyone embroiled in a political fight over a political nomination during an election campaign where the Democrats can remind people how Trump's guy has been a part of his abuse of civil liberties, as well as remind voters in republican-held states that their senators are actually Trump bootlickers and have no mind of their own (assuming they follow the pattern of voting for Trump's guy, regardless of how poorly suited they are.

We're still waiting for someone to tell the President of the United States that Puerto Rico is a US territory.

Of course he knows the US owns it.
I mean President Trump surely wouldn’t try to sell something he didn’t own.

[OK, I saw the foolishness of my statement right as I finished typing it out]

So the anti-abortion whacko on tap tonight has a biracial son, and she says he is more likely to be a criminal than here lighter skin son.

Mother of the year, there

Stephen Colbert said the same thing (about Jr).

I (and PBS) also enjoyed this gaffe from Sen. Tim Scott.

If we let them they will turn this country into a socialist utopia ...

Uhhhh.....I'm pretty sure that that is no gaffe.

The idea of Utopia is this perfect world whose major problem is that it cannot exist. Attempts to build utopias inevitably fail.

Actually Thomas More's original is actually on my "to be read" list, so I'm not sure what's in it, but I think the speaker got it exactly right.

Oh, come on, Meadmaker. The vast majority of people would equate 'utopia' with 'a perfect paradise'. Even IF Scott's use of the word was intentional, and I highly doubt it was, it was still a gaffe because it gave the opposite message he would have intended.

Pretty sure the asshat was trying to say dystopia, but ****** it all up.

I agree with Meadmaker. Probably needed some finger scare-quotes when he said it. "Utopia". A utopia only for Socialists.
