In what way does the President of the US or the US DOJ have standing to challenge the voting process determined by a state?

All-mail voting is not new. Multiple states have been doing it for years.

Heck, he even did it in the 2018 elections. At least it shows they know the more people that vote the less chance they have, so not entirely delusional.

Someone mentioned earlier about wondering if Trump would follow through with his promised announcement of the GOP healthcare plan on Aug. 2. He didn't. CNN ran a hilarious montage of all the things we were going to hear about "in/within two weeks" from Trump...and never did. Maybe this belongs in the "Trump nickname" thread: Two Weeks Trump.

Did they have the time he was stomping away from the press claiming that “The Republican Party will be known as the party of health care!!!”?

Trump Tweets

[snip]

My visits last week to Texas and Frorida had massive numbers of cheering people gathered along the roads and highways, thousands and thousands, even bigger (by far) than the crowds of 2016. Saw no Biden supporters, and yet some in the Fake News said it was an equal number. Sad!

This site is interesting: Propublica: Tweets trump deleted.

Apparently:

Do you think it was the misspelling of Florida? Or maybe someone fact-checked the nonsense about his imaginary worshipers?

He's so delusional his minders are more worried than usual.

Here's one that only lasted 9 seconds:
RT @realDonaldTrump: We have more Cases because we do more Testing. It’s Lamestream Media Gold! Deleted after 9 seconds at 9:41 AM on 01 Aug. Original tweet by @realDonaldTrump.

There are a lot of hydroxychloroquine promotions deleted. Bet that pisses him off.

This is really good. Apologies it it was already linked somewhere up thread. An “honest government” ad for Trump 2020 from our friends down under.

I'd like to show these ads to a fake focus group made up of Trump supporters. I bet they'd be just fine with some of these.

Trump Tweets

Wow! Really bad TV Ratings for Morning Joe (@JoeNBC). @foxandfriends doing great, leading all others by far. @CNN not a factor!!!

Trump thinks that Microsoft should pay the government to buy Tiktok.

https://techcrunch.com/2020/08/03/trump-calls-tiktok-a-hot-brand-demands-a-chunk-of-its-sale-price/

"Then today the president, endorsing a deal between an American company and ByteDance over TikTok, also said that he expects a chunk of the sale price to wind up in the accounts of the American government."

Is there a 30% tariff on Chinese software?

Trump is so ignorant it boggles the mind more every day. Or maybe that should read 'so delusional'.

Quiet part loud. Normally a well-connected bureaucrat would find themselves in a highly-paid consultant job in return for their "facilitation," instead Trump is demanding a slice off the top.

I can't find anything suggesting big corporate investments (or takeovers) are on the list of Chinese products subjected to tariffs. And I can't find anywhere people using Tiktok have ever paid any tariffs to use said products or for related app purchases.

I wonder how long 'til that Tweet is taken down?

Sure, has anyone been lobbying on behalf of Microsoft?

Here is his big health announcement

Trump Retweeted

The White House
@WhiteHouse
"We've vastly expanded coverage allowing Medicare to cover more than 135 new services through telehealth."

President @realDonaldTrump's latest order builds upon a series of actions we've taken to make telehealth available to ALL!

We ensured that Medicare covers telehealth visits at no additional cost and co-payments can be waived!

1h President @realDonaldTrump just signed an executive order to ensure telehealth is here to stay!

Telehealth is cheaper for insurance companies than on site visits (it's an issue my wife's hospital is dealing with; they are seeing more patients, but they don't get reimbursed nearly as much). OF COURSE Medicare is going to cover it.

So, not actually any more people covered, not actually any expanded services, not any reduced costs, just the same thing only now it's via a phone screen for people who largely struggle with making technology work.

It annoys me the news media has yet to properly address this problem. Trump proclaims pre-existing conditions, COVID testing, and now claiming Medicare will cover telehealth without addressing, OK then, who pays?

And for Medicare to reimburse for this, it's not like you wish it and it magically appears. There have to be billing codes and set reimbursement rates, and the rates can differ by location.

And not every Medicare patient is getting free care. That's another misconception.

False dichotomy.

And that’s no ordinary ignorance. You can have 10 world-class experts try to educate him on one aspect of one issue and that ignorance will not diminish one bit.

Occasional you can get one fact through (the most common way of identifying these successes is to listen for President Trump to say “not that many people know this” (occasionally, it will be, “I have a very smart friend who knows lots of things and he didn’t know this”).
