Not linked that I saw. Last one I saw of theirs was when the stock market crashed and THEN the Republicans started doing... something.

Well, Obama was clearly running for a third term under the nom de guerre "Hillary Clinton" (an obvious anagram for "I'm the Kenyan Muslim, Deplorables!"). Of course, everyone knows that if you win a third term, under the conditions of the secret parts of the Constitution, you become President For Life, which isn't nearly as anti-abortion as it sounds, but Trump strategically got fewer votes than ObamaClinton got, defeating him/her/it quite handily. Well, he got a handy, anyways. Only cost twenty bucks!

Just to repeat that: Trump deliberately decided to let Americans die, in huge numbers, not because there was nothing that could be done, but because it was decided that it would “politically advantageous” to have people dying in states with Democratic governors.

Taking credit for improvements in the economy even though he had nothing to do with them was always likely to come back and bite him in the ass when it got worse, again for reasons that have nothing (well, very little) to do with him.

He told reporters he could sign an executive order as early as Saturday.

US security officials have expressed concern that the app, owned by Chinese firm ByteDance, could be used to collect the personal data of Americans.

Nah. To his cultists, when things go wrong later it's either everyone else's fault, fake news, liberal hysteria blown out of proportion, or immaterial because x wouldn't do a better job, and y was just as bad or worse.

It's a social media platform used by teenagers to post videos, like Instagram or Snapchat.

It's controversial due to its connections with China, AFAIK, but more likely someone associated with it in some way said something bad about Trump.

There are many more Chinese apps. i have WeChat on my phone from last year. No problems I have heard there (not that there may not be some..I had to have it to communicate there but i downloaded it here).
If he is singling out this one I bet there is some evidence it is a bigger problem.

Many other countries are considering banning TikTok, like Australia. India already banned it.
There was another thread here on it i was going to respond to but it was 'closed' after one post for some reason.

The US cant really 'ban' it because our internet is too spread out but they can prohibit connections to US companies so that it would be removed from the app 'store'. That sort of kills it.

This particular app seems to have been singled out. I do not doubt there is a real reason for it.
My kiddo is banned from it anyway...even without China spyware.
