There are multiple reasons. Perhaps the simplest is that also associating the alleged conspirators with supposed sexual depravity is another way to vilify them. Of course this does not explain why they are so focused on accusations of pedophilia. One could just as easily imagine that they rape adults. In fact that would be more credible.

I think it has a large degree to do with the impact of false allegations of "satanic child abuse" that appeared in the 80s and afterwards. As homosexuality, casual sex and other forms of "debauchery" became more widely tolerated or even acceptable, those who seek to rile people up with tales of sexual depravity and immorality have been forced to explicitly bring up ever more extreme acts to have the same emotional impact as in older times.
